Brackets are out and none of our NJ recruits are top seed.

Esposito from St.Joes is the 2 seed at 133 he should see one of the star freshman Joyce (cba) or Riotto (Bergen catholic) in the semis. Collucio is the 1 seed

DeGeorge is the 2 seed at 144. He’ll have a tough 1/4 against LIU recruit McCann then a semi against DePaul from Delsea. Top seed Duffy from cba should cruise to the finals

215- Palumbo is 3 seed at 215 . Should beat Salerno again in the 1/4 final before an inevitable lose to Hodgins in the semis. Deluca a Columbia commit is the 1 seed.

I just loved watching Sontz get cement mixered by Zinkin.

Outside of DeGeorge who the verdict is still out on I don’t think any of our NJ recruits are anything more than depth guys. Esposito and Palumbo I think are a waste of roster spots. I think Reyes has a chance to be solid but that’s 50/50 a best. I think the guys Rider is bringing have a lot more college potential in Hansen and Kage Jones. Glad we re hitting PA hard with recruiting at least

Can always raid Rider in the portal if they develop.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that I think they’ve almost matched rutgers in AAs since 2020 and have more ncaa finalists then us since then.
But they damn sure don't have as much NIL as Rutgers does. Hell Rider is in legit danger of closing as a school.

I think we’ve stopped prioritizing NJ which is fine. We have a better rep with out of state kids

Looks like our recruits went 1-4 in the championship bracket as of tonight.

Kage Jones didnt even place this year and Ive personally watched him quit in 2-3 matches as soon as he faced any adversity.

Esposito won
DeGeorge won
Reyes lost tight one to Betz 3-2
Palumbo is not a D1 wrestler IMO
Whos the other one?
More impressed with this 21 seed from Delsea , getting to the finals. I hope Burke beats Sontz. Didn't see Dante Deluca getting throttled like that. I was always wondering if that kid's on the juice. Just made huge physical gains in the last year. Sammy Spaulding going down too was another head scratcher.

Yes, I saw that too. I forget if I watched last years final but this is the first time I recall they are charging to watch and was trying to clarify that.
It’s been $10 for the finals the last few years. Used to be free. Now they charge $15 for any one day or $25 for the whole tournament.

Tickets to attend were between 60-80 bucks depending on where you get them. NJSIAA and NJ.com should both be ashamed of themselves

That Pettit kid, 21 seed champ. Didn’t look flukey either. Beat multiple D1 kids on the way. District and region champ, probably underseeded because he didn’t wrestle postseason last year. Something like 35-2 this year. Think he’s worth a flyer at Rutgers.

This is off Delbarton has 7 finalists and St. John Vianney have 1. Delbarton has half their starting lineup in the state finals

also public schools had 7 of the 8 medalists at heavyweight

Has Kenny shown any signs he would decommit or just wishful thinking? Would have to imagine RU would be high on his transfer list if he were to but not counting on it..
NJ26 seems somewhat connected so maybe he knows something, but just like Knox never struck me as a typical Cornell kid, Kenny doesn’t strike me as an Iowa kid. If you look at Iowa’s rosters, it’s almost exclusively edgy kids that will get under your skin, not shy away from trouble on/off the mat, etc. Kenny isn’t really that.

I don’t know anything relating to the Kennys but you never know . He may be locked into Iowa right now but you never know things arent all sunshine and rainbows for them right now the world can look a whole lot different by the fall of 2027

He looked good and seemed to come out of nowhere. Took out 3 D1 commits: DiAndrea (UPenn), Spalding (Navy), Hagerty (Drexel). He went 1-2 at states his only other appearance as a sophomore. Why didn't he wrestle postseason last year? Also only wrestled 2 matches freshman year.

Didn't Reyes have a nice tournament? $$$
