Can we hire Jordan Burroughs soon?
Ain't gonna happen.Goody has his head so far up all the athletic departments *** with his " eye of dream speeches".Like Schiano and his ********. They think they got everyone fooled with their "we're gonna get em this year...or next year...or 2050" speeches. When the university wakes up and looses sponsors, revenue and fans, then they will finally make the move to boot these two "lagger oners".

We're going backwards, things aren't getting any better.
What exactly were you expecting this match? We lost 1 match we were favored and won 1 match we were underdog. Everything else went scratch with higher ranked winning.

Pinto has been a big disappointment so far. His matches vs Top 10 not close except Ruiz was ok.

Bottom line, same old, same old year after year. We are basically paper tigers. We beat up on patsies and lose to anyone good, yeah I know we beat 1 ok Illinois team last year, 1st win in forever vs a top 10 but that is not what we usually do.

it will continue to be this way as long as Goodale is coach and we have no NIL. Goodale got us to a good place but it’s now a track record of what we are year in year out. We go 12-5 beating all the patsies and get maybe 1 AA in a tremendous year 2 AA. It is what it is until a change is made.

Yeah, so I guess that is your expectation just to lose bc we are not higher ranked. How about we become the team with the higher ranked wrestlers? Or that pulls the upsets? When will that ever happen? It doesnt for most part. Its the same crap every year. Its not like its a 1-2 year trend.

Was expecting it to be “razor thin” if Trumble didn’t go. Knew it was too much hoping.

The bright spots were Joey O, SCW, and Smith.

Magro going vs NC State
I get that Clark had a hiccup earlier but he beat this same NC State kid last year.. shoulda sent out Clark again for this particular matchup to see if he could bounce back or how much the gap has widen.

Why were you expecting it to be so close when their lineup was favored in 7 or 8 of 10 bouts? Not the best strategy to ignore reality and just hope.

I was playing off Nick kosco’s title of our match being “razor thin” if Trumble out. In reality, I said it was too much hoping . Umm I don’t ignore reality I’m not the overly optimistic poster type. I said we would need a lot of hoping . Who ignores reality n hopes more me or u? A lot of posters here thought we had a chance if Trumble out .. “razor thin”

My best-case scenario had us losing, but I was still too optimistic. Shame on me.

I respect Kosko a lot but I thought his razor thin prediction was overly optimistic. We’re a good team but if you look at the matchups, the weights we’re strong at NC State is even stronger.

It’s not just the box score but we have regressed at a few weights.. Shawver does not look like a AA.. he’s going into OT w unranked soph bumping up a weight? Clark has regressed so much he’s now lost his starting spot? At the start of the season he was considered a fav over the nc state kid. Or a coinflip at minimal. White and Casale are what they are.. Joey O and SCW have looked good(his lost to f and m kid doesn’t look so bad now). smith shown some fight.

Without Trumble, RU was favored in 4 matches going into this. Two other ones were tossups (Oliver or and Pinto). Oliviere won. Pinto got decked and Trumble wrestled which shifted things.

Bottom line. Pinto getting decked in a toss up match took any chance from RU. He has looked bad thus far.

what happened to Cotton? When we were making predictions, we were expecting Cotton not Casale

I don’t agree with you premise that just because a guy is ranked higher, you should expect to win. I expected Joe O to win and I thought for sure Pinto would get a big win. Are those outlandish picks?

Matches like these should be shown to the coaching staff when they wonder why they're not invited to National Duals next year. You can't just lay down and take a beating from a top 10 team that barely made a dent at that tournament.

And we'll probably miss the national duals again next year. I doubt we'll do well enough at nationals with this roster to qualify.

Seems like it was lost in the shuffle of the NC State dual but Conner Harer had his best day in college yesterday. He took 2nd at the Patriot Open . first he knocked off NQ Ley from Navy who majored white this year, then he beat 3x NQ Kal Miller from Maryland before dropping a close 8-6 match to 2x NQ Dj McGee who is currently ranked #17. I think Harer is going to be fine in the long run

A short while ago I posted an interview with Peterson at Iowa. I found an interview of Soldano at Oklahoma. It's long, but very interesting. He talked much more about his experience at Rutgers than I expected. It's worth listening to up well past the halfway point.

Harer appeared to do well. I was hoping he'd win it. I don't know his opponents, so I couldn't assess their strength. Gibson needs to be at 133. It's a shame someone with his history should be doing better. I fear he won't be developed. Blanchette went 4-1 to 5th place and two pins. I don't know why Packer is at 285; he wasn't all that strong at 197. The Nini mystery is solved thanks to Anon1765136224, who reported that he'll be out for the season due to injury and surgery. How many guys get injured during practices?

It seems like Gibson peaked when he was a freshman or soph in hs.

He was so physical and mature at the time for the weight. And most of his moves he used his power. Eventually everyone catches up physically and then technique matters even more. He's still solid but definitely not what people thought he would be after winning super 32 as an 8th grader

He’s also very short and stocky for his weight.. especially at 141 idk y he’s going that weight.. I used to think all body frames can win in wrestling but it seems to be trending the longer big frames for the weight the better…

Yup, we have Pinto who I thought was this potential high AA, to thinking he now has Mario Mason Syndrome.Catka too.Not impressed by him whatsoever. Clark is a waste of space out there.Shawver survived by the skin of his teeth, and is no way going to repeat AA the way he is wrestling.Joey O looked good, but let's see how he fairs down the road

Yea Pinto looks like a shell of himself.. to be fair he has wrestled 3 returning AAs already. Maybe Rutgers has too many distractions, he is used to being surrounded by cornfields. Shawver hasn’t wrestled with any fire at all since he won that R12 match 2 years ago it looks like he’s content with being a one time AA… Catka was always going to be a placeholder ,he has no real go to offense , he’ll be a NQ and that’s it but the portal for heavyweight was pretty scarce so its better then nothing. Rutgers should be trying to lure a guy a kid like the heavyweight from Bucknell or even Navy for the next couple seasons. Joey O looks better then ever. He’s staying aggressive on his feet ,being physical and actually looks physically strong enough for the weight (about 3 guys in Rutgers lineup actually look strong enough for the their weight)

He needs to be 133 or drop down to D2 or D3 if he wants to be 141 hes just an average guy at 141
