The three-man wedge on kickoff returns is being outlawed to prevent head
injuries. If three or more players stand shoulder-to-shoulder on a
kickoff return, a team will be penalized 15 yards from the spot of the
wedge or from the spot where the ball is downed behind the wedge.

Whew. Well that's good because....no wait, I can't recall a single player getting a head injury due to the wedge on a kick return.

They would put this rule in the one year we have a real good KR in his senior year. We are....

If we hadn't fired Croom, this rule would have singlehandedly run him out of college football. He doesn't know how to return kicks without a wedge.

The NFL had this rule all of last season and most people didn't even realize it. It won't be that big of deal.

However, the dumb asses at the NCAA didn't make this rule change until AFTER spring practice. How stupid can they be? Coaches spent all spring teaching something one way and now they'll have to turn around and spend part of fall practice teaching something different. Not that this is a huge or a change or anything, but it's still asinine for the NCAA to make rule changes post spring practice.

Three guys blocking close together? Three guys holding hands? Where do they draw the line?

Or just 3 guys together blocking? The maroon in my sees this as a case were the refs can piss on us during any given kickoff return.

The SEC has a piss poor record on subjectiveness.
