Let's hope they get the trifecta over NW, which will not be easy.

Get it done!

I clearly don’t really understand the nuances of this sport. Feels like there are way too many whistles. What looks like good defense (which again, clearly I don’t know the details of the rules) gets called for a whistle and allows NW to maintain possession.

What’s allowed and not allowed on defense?

When I worked in the athletic department I knew a lot of girls who played field hockey and attempted to watch a couple games and just had no clue whatsoever what was going on out there. A buddy of mine captain his high school field hockey team in England, he tried to explain the rules to me, and I still don’t get it Ha Hah Hah

Anyway only down one start of the second quarter. With Penn State losing this is an opportunity that our team has to make the most of without question. Really would be a huge win today; if not definitely would be a little disappointing.

Lol, yeah totally not picking up on the reasons for the whistles, but whatever, go RU!

Ha, I did the same thing... Turned on BTN for like 5 mins only too see way too many whistles\stoppages for seemingly nothing.

Lost 2-1

There’s turning a program around, then winning big games, then winning when it counts. We’re getting there in FH and WS but not quite just yet. Very mental IMHO. One of these teams needs to step up and get us over the hump.

Team has greatly improved ... thought they had a shot at the title. Impressive improvement. Hope they get a bid.

I had to do some research last week - there are only like 5 types of fouls but I think the most commonly called one is that you can not put your stick between the ball and the other players stick - I think that most of the whistles are this foul.

Two other things - my back hurts just watching this game and can you imagine playing this game on real grass - I know my high school played on grass for years.

I have a bad feeling those Maryland losses come back to haunt them. Watch the Terps upset Iowa and steal a bid from us.

EDIT - Terps lost. HUGE for us IMHO.
I hope your team gets into the NCAAs instead of Maryland. The Terps are not what they usually are this year, best to just pack it in for them.

But sometimes a teams rep in a sport gives them an unfair advantage, as you know. For instance, I was shocked to see a 4-4 Maryland soccer team invited into the NCAAs. Even though they beat Michigan, I thought Michigan should have been the 3rd B1G team.

Go Rutgers, getting better across the board every year!

Seven corners & no goals. Unlike RU, as was six & no goals vs Terps in 2nd game. We had better of play in both games. Too Bad.

As expected those losses to The Terps come back to haunt us as we miss the smaller-than-usual 12-team field. What a shame.

Let’s get’em in the fall!

There's something wrong with the governance of the sport when you are a top 8 team and don't make the tournament. NCAA should be ashamed of themselves.

We wouldve been comfortably in if it was a normal 16 team field. We will start the season Top 10 and hungry after getting screwed because the eggheads in the Ivy cancelled sports all year, causing a smaller field in the Tourney.

My understanding is all but one intend to be back. Hope so.
