Pretty awesome racing, one of the greatest comebacks of all time in any sporting event. USA keeping the cup at home. 17 yeah.

Did I hear correctly this morning that there was only one actual American on the entire team?

I gotta say, I got into it with 3 or so races to go in the comeback. I've never been into sailing... but it's a decent spectator sport now with the new boats and the (from what I understand) shorter races.

My question is this (to anyone with more sailing knowledge than me): How did the USA lose so many races early, when it was clear later on that they had a much faster boat? It's not like they figured out the tactics or strategies of the Kiwis, they just blew by them on the straight-aways, so to speak.

If I were a conspiracy guy, I would say the whole thing was rigged this year to create buzz and raise viewership.

Actually, Team Oracle was crewed by a bunch of Aussies/Brits and had an Aussie Skipper and beat Team New Zealand that was mostly Kiwis with two Aussies on their crew.
