As bad as the way the season ended, I'm happy that we didnt somehow backinto a bowl game without earning it. While on the other hand, a bowl game would have been good for the team due to the extra practices that goes along with a bowl game.

Yea. Maybe the coaching staff could have taught a few fundamentals.

Anybody else wondering whether this decision by Missouri is the administration's way of "sticking it" to the team for their decision to "boycott" the rest of the season if the President of the University did not decide to resign a few weeks ago?
No, that is unnecessary drama and doesn't affect me one bit. Nice way to stir up a story though.

After the next transfers we may/may not have it would be a crap shoot as to who we had left to play

Not trying to stir up a story at all. (Big Bengals fan here, by the way - since the days of Kenny Anderson and the WEB defense).

I just can't help but think that the administrators at the school might still be a little bitter about the boycott. Although you'd never get anyone to admit it, I could definitely see the interim President deciding that, since the team was ready to end the season after nine games, there was no way they were going to reward the team with a 13th.

Who Dey!!! Lets hope we can pull it together in the Playoffs this year.

Also, I understand your point 100%, although it would be bad strategy on the school administration to do this, I feel this can be too big of a risk for them to take.

I'm not sure 15 more practices would have helped. They've practiced for about 5 months or so and still suck.

How the heck did UK's APR get so low?

I do not know the specifics, but this typically happens when you have a coaching change every three years, because half of the APR score is based on student-athlete retention until graduation.

A new coach (like Stoops was in 2013) is going to have as his first priority to upgrade the roster. That means some players currently in the program are going to transfer out or quit, and when they do that without graduating, it hurts the retention half of the APR score.

This is an important point, because the last thing the UK program wants is to change coaches again and have the APR score drop below 930. With the new rules, if that happens, UK wouldn't be eligible for a bowl at all.
