No Deadline...

ESPN just reported that Urban Meyer said there was no deadline for when Tebow needs to practice before he will be eligible for the LSU game. Must be nice to have a quarterback that can come back from a concussion after not practicing and still having confidence in him to perform.</p>

Florida could play the rest of the season without Tebow and still go undefeated. The only two teams I think have a shot at Florida even without Tebow would be maybe Georgia and Alabama.

Florida, with Brantley at QB, would still beat LSU by 20.

and judging from the fact that he seemed pretty lucid, if not a bit foggy, on the bench I would guess it was not then two weeks should be enough to rest. That being said I would still hold him out of the LSU game, give him two weeks of full rest then let him practice restricted the next week. Rushing a concussion can be really bad and it leads to getting another on even minor hits.

Florida had trouble beating Tennesse at home with Tebow and you think they'd beat LSU by 20 on the road without him??? They're a great team, but nobody can take a road game against a top 10 team for granted. Upsets happen all the time, even to teams that are "invincible." Hell, Florida lost a game last year to a team they outgained by 100 yards. You, of all people, should know they can't take any game against a good team for granted.

is how the concussion will affect the way Meyer calls plays. You always hear that players are more susceptible to concussions after the first one. With that in mind, can you in good conscious call 10 plays a game where Tebow is supposed to run like a fullback to get the tough yards? I cannot see him being near as effective if the situation dictates more play calls that make him more of a pocket passer that he has been. And yes, I realize the head shot occurred on a typical drop back and not a run.

Tennessee has one of the best defenses in the SEC, right behind Alabama and Florida in my opinion, and Florida was still on their way to a 24 point win before Tebow fumbled.

LSU's defense is weak, and their offense is inconsistent. Yes, I think Florida beats LSU by 20 even if Brantley starts. If you give me the choice of having Tebow versus UT's defense or playing with Brantley against LSU's defense, I'd take the latter every time. LSU's defense sucked last year. They lost almost all of their D-line, and they still suck this year. Florida with Brantley would put up 35+ on LSU, and Florida's defense is going to keep LSU below the 20 point mark.

Your defense held LSU to 267 yards and only 16 points offensively. Florida's defense will do better than that. The only games Florida has to worry about at all are Georgia and the SEC title game, and Georgia shouldn't even be that much of a concern. I don't think LSU has a chance at hanging with Florida with or without Tebow.

I'm pretty sure LSU's defense could manage to hold Ohio to 23 points. Point is, that's not a game Florida can take for granted without Tebow. Yeah, they probably win 7 out of 10 times in Tiger Stadium even with Brantley. But they probably would win 8 or 9 out of 10 times against Mississippi at home last year with Tebow and Harvin and we all know how that turned out.

TN has a really good defense, but yes, Im surprised they gave up 340 yds and 16 points to Ohio.

Let me remind you that LSU has played against Vandy and State in torrential rain. They would have thrown for 400 yards against us had it not been so wet. Fla cannot go Tiger Stadium with a back-up and beat LSU by 7, much less 20....rain is the great equalizer, and LSU has had their fair share. They have some outstanding weapons and will be just fine. I still think they beat Jawja Sat

All I know is that State managed almost 100 yards more of offense against LSU than LSU managed, and I'm pretty sure State played in the same conditions.

Based on last year's performance and LSU's performance to this point this year, I'm not at all impressed with the LSU defense, and I believe the offense leaves plenty to be desired. Florida's defense will be head and shoulders better than anything LSU will have faced.

I just don't think LSU ranks as Florida's most difficult game, even though it'll be in Tiger Stadium at night. I could be wrong on that, but I don't think either Florida or LSU is a whole lot different than they were last year when Florida won by 30.
