We do have pieces in place that scream success. Our secondary and DL have promise and we still have depth at RB, WR and TE coming back. Our OL should be better when Toth and Leavitt are playing and Swindle isn't.

I just can't see the over dramatic reaction to this 5-7 season! I'm pissed because it could have been better but I knew we were young coming in which meant possibly winning games we shouldn't but also losing games we shouldn't! That's screams youth trying to figure out how to win!

I know next year people are worried about how tough the schedule is but if this group gets it and clear clicks there is no reason even with next year's schedule that 6-6 is t achievable!

people aren't being overdramatic to losing games, or just going 5-7 as a young team. we aren't being impatient. it's one thing to lose to a team who clearly is more talented, like say, Florida or Tennessee. but it's another to lose to teams in embarrassing fashion where there isn't a huge talent chasm, i.e. UL and Vandy. and absolutely getting the brakes beaten off of you.

It is clear this coaching staff is going in reverse as the year goes on, just like last year. the stuff like 8 men on the field and calling a TO on a short punt but not calling a TO to save 5 yards on a long FG that was barely missed (in a game where every point mattered), is completely indefensible. you see these are pretty big problems, not just related to "lack of SEC talent", right?

The predictions at the start of the season were based on the thinking that the schedule would be much tougher. Most thought 5 or 6 wins against a tough schedule would be good but it turns out the entire SEC east is a dumpster fire. Florida won the SEC east and they might be the worst offensive team in the country. Add this to poor showings against LA Lafayette & EKU and there is nothing to be proud of or hope for. Not all 5 win teams are created equal and this team was a bad 5 win team.

No,we don't have all the pieces and it is clear that we don't have the coaching staff to put the pieces together if we had them.

The thing we do have is 9 months to recover from the suffering we have had to endure during this football season. What we have seen (when you consider the total season) is nothing short of astounding in its futility and ineptitude. I think it is a fair question to ask/wonder where do we go from here? This is Billy Gillispie like as to how far these coaches are in over their heads.

I have said on here many times that I hope Mark Stoops succeeds at UK but I doubt that he has any chance to do so.

Face it....UK has lost to U of L 5 times in a row in football for the first time ever.
Whether Cat fans want to admit thats the primary source of their angst or not is the main topic for discussion.

Our DL is tiny compared to the SEC. Jeez, does ANYBODY know ANYTHING about football around here?

Well according to some on this board we don't need to bother with recruiting DL because we will develop them. I was corrected in my thinking by some here on that subject.

Yeah that's absurd. You can't outdevelop size. Everybody's developing size, so the biggest recruits win.

i don't agree. it always makes me vomit in my mouth a little whenever we lose to duhvil in anything, but all the angst today is because of a culmination of the comedy of errors of the entire season, which showed no progress at qb, overall team play, nor any spark of competence by the coaching staff.
