Sestina is better than Reid in a lot of ways. And that’s saying something. He won’t equal his chance rebounding prowess but offensively he’s leaps and bounds ahead.

IQ is much improved.

Nick is looking better in some aspects of his game.

We have shooters. And we have some makers.

Canada the walk-on is not looking like a deer in headlights as you’d expect. He can help eventually and will probably get a scholly down the road.

Nick looks looks relaxed and has played well. Was totally gassed with about five minutes left though.

Nate Sestina is really good. Looks like he’ll be a ~40% three point shooter.

Brooks and Maxey are both going to be good right out of the gate. Both guys are a lot of fun to watch.

Hagans is high energy. Hit a good looking three first thing. Badly missed some free throws and still doesn’t finish at the rim if he’s contested.

If EJ has made a leap its not evident to me.

Juzang looks like he’s putting it all together but it’s not all there just yet. If you could combine his skills with Whitney’s athleticism, you’d have an amazing player. Whitney looks like he’ll make us groan during half court conference grinders. Doesn’t dribble, shoot or pass.

We go a solid 9, 10 deep. The combinations available to Cal for match-ups are great. Nick looks better. Rebounding will have to be a team effort; don't see anyone that can bang like Reid. Maybe Nick? Had 10 and 7 first half.

I missed the first half. Nice report. Good to hear that Nick looks better.

Sestina is our best big. He’s Derek Willis with size and the willingness to mix it up inside. Sorry it’s not positive, but EJ has been pretty much invisible out there. Richards always looks pretty good in these settings, and is obviously much more confident, but he’s never going to be a dominant big man. He will be forced into an 18-20 minute role this season and will average 6 and 6. I’m good with that as long as it’s consistent production. Can’t have games from him where he plays 18 minutes and pulls in 1 rebound.
