This is really starting to feel like basketball coaching search. Who was the guy we were certain we had locked up with the 'Hall's Chophouse' story....... We're going to end up with Furrey - or the Bears' asst scout team OC analyst who's never called plays anytime other than practice.
Why did you post to begin with on the free board? You're chastising us for not knowing information knowing we aren't insiders? You started the mass confusion

A question was asked about the hiring process. You answered that it was already known. Except it cant be known by the people who aren't paying for insiders board.
Therefore, whining to people about not reading articles that they dont have access to doesnt come across real well for you.

It's definitely not worth it to put up with the people on there.
They certainly don't send their best and brightest to the free side as a sales pitch.
Except this isn't an insider forum, and I'm not an insider, bud. So, no, based on mine and many other posters' threads and comments, it was not commonly known.

Patience is the key to making winning investments and getting the sports information we want. In the latter, we will inevitably know. If you need to know now what you will get for Christmas, go for it.

Look, other schools don't take 5 weeks to hire a damn coordinator. And guess what, those schools produce better on the field than SC. Show me a school that has taken 5 weeks to hire a coordinator that is a top program. But it happens all the time at SC.
Why is it that ONLY at SC do they have to dot their t's and cross their Is or get the lawyers to look over the contracts or whatever other reason all of the staff at GC and other sites have said?? Why is that only at SC?

And if you believe that, I can promise you that SC will keep seeing the same results on the field. The LSUs, Bamas, that really want to win aren't taking 5 weeks to hire a coordinator. I guarantee you if Missouri had an open coordinator position, Eli wouldn't take 5 weeks to hire someone.
If Beamer was a proven winner and SC had been in the playoffs then you could try to argue that his way of doing things work. He isn't and it doesn't.
Get ready for another Dowell Loggains type hire at OC.
Wes, JC, Chris and others have said it is "likely" to be Briles and that it is just the process. Whatever. Here is what is going to happen. It is going to end up being a name that none of them have discussed. It is going to be a completely underwhelming name. Then, they are going to try and sell everyone on how it is a good choice. Just like Beamer will do.

Hey, you are reading into my post something else than I intended. Right above my post, others were talking about going to the ""Insiders" to get information. What you did was "assume" I was talking about filling the OC position. You know what they say about people who "assume". Next time, try to not let your imagination fly.

My point still remains "in general". Way too many people just continue to talk about patience every single time Beamer hires a coach. Yet, the hires continue to be underwhelming while other schools don't take nearly as long.
I think the encouraging thing is that, based on the leaked information (if assumed to be true), Beamer is shooting for a legit OC hire.
At this point, there's no real rush. I could see trying to have one in place by the early signing period, but it doesn't appear to have hurt us there. Now we just want to have someone locked up before the portal opens.
If he's taking his time to make sure he gets a qualified OC, I'm fine with it. If we end up with some random NFL journeyman, that will not be so good.

Oh, he didn't appear out of thin air. He ran that same MO on the old board for years.
I remember explaining this to a couple posters who just thought he was so funny. Well, they learned, even if they cant admit it.

Yes, you are right that I could have been a little nicer. I wish I had been. Sorry about that. It's all good on my end, No harm. That said, I agree with you that Beamer is taking too long to make the hire. But as 18 said, it does not appear to have hurt us recruiting-wise. And we have no game to prepare for.

Here is where I disagree a little. My thought is that it repeatedly takes Beamer a long time to make a hire because he gets turned down a lot. So I do think it is hurting us because I believe he is getting turned down. Now I know many would say he can't control that. And it may be true that it isn't squarely on him. But it falls under the umbrella of the University in general. They aren't doing what they need to do to get a legitimate hire. Again, just speculation but I think that is what is going on. As I said in an earlier post, I doubt very seriously the OC at SC ends up being any of the "legitimate" names that have been mentioned..... Briles, Beck, John David Becker, etc.
There is no way that Dowell Loggains was Shane's first choice. My guess is he was way down the list. I believe that is what will happen this time too.
