No question. This is a reflection of the state of the program

It's happened under other coaches at WVU and other programs. I think Don Barclay missed his last bowl game as well and he's playing on Sunday. This is one time I'll stick up for DH.

But I think there is a staff person who is supposed to keep up with this. That guy is the problem.

These young fellers grades and academic failure not allowing them to make the bowl game ain't got a thing to do with the 'state of the program'. I don't even want the OP to tell me how he equates the two. The 'state of the program' is that WV will beat ASU without these young fellers. They will be back next year and I'm glad for that. They good.

It happens just about every year. The Worley deal with the missed deadline bugs me. The academic folks should have seen to that. Shouldn't need a mommy at this age, but...

Well, at least it wasn't for drugs, team rules violations, or any myriad of off-campus violations and illegal transgressions. I agree that the guy responsible for academic oversight needs to step up his game just a bit. I thought we had folks making sure these guys attended class and had tutorial classes available. Yet.. You can lead a horse to water and....

Don't the players bear SOME responsibility for this? I would think the academic eligibility guy told them about it more than once. This is like blaming the cop who gives you a ticket for running a red light instead of blaming yourself for not braking for the red light.
Accountability is big on the football field, because 1 guy messes up and the other 10 pay the price with him. Accountability, personal accountability, should apply in this case. 81 other scholarship players had no problem doing it. So why is it that the 4 who didn't have a scapegoat, the academic eligibility guy? He isn't allowed to do it for them. That's what got North Carolina in trouble.

Personally, I only had three kids to keep up with and they still managed to get past my radar on occasion. Imagine what it must be like trying to stay on top of every situation in every kids life on a team of 120 or so football players. **** happens. Everywhere.

Absolutely agree. Next we will be blaming the cable guy.

There are close to 100 players on the roster so there always going to be a few ineligible players. The 24/7 Marshall Trolls on our idiot board are excited because they think Doc Holliday might be able to steal one or two of these players for his program.

Do you realize that getting paperwork through the NCAA is like getting medical services at the VA?

What pisses you off is Worley just turned his **** on late. How in the Hell does that happen. I can understand just being stupid and not having the grades, but turning work in late that's a true WTF moment

But old EOR can never be happy it's just in his genetics. There is a reason he is portrayed as an *** in Winnie the Pooh

Then of course you show up to give the OP his wet dream....should lock you both in a room together...something tells me you two would really hit it off...

Since you seem to be on top of the situation paper, give us some numbers. How many athletes have passed requirements and how many haven't since Holgorsen has been coach. Give us some percentages.
