The only thing I raised an eyebrow at is the prosecution getting all the prospective black jurors off the case (since in Texas the jury determines the sentence) but like you said, it is fairly open and shut. It is pretty much just the right (with one or two exceptions) trying to make a race thing out of this

… the prosecution did NOT have all prospective black jurors removed from the jury pool. That is not how jury selection works in any jurisdiction. I’m assuming what you’re referring to is the prospective jurors removing themselves during Voir Dire.
When prospective jurors answer that they cannot be impartial, for any reason, they are pretty much automatically struck. I was struck from a jury because I answered in the affirmative that I couldn’t be impartial when someone had tattoos (now to be fair … the question was horribly worded. I have no issue with people with tattoos/piercings, but the defendant had facial tattoos and when explaining my answer I simply said to the judge “I don’t have an issue with people with tattoos, but if you have tattoos on your face???? You clearly make questionable decisions”. Turned out the defendant tried to murder his sleeping mother by setting her house on fire …. Soooooo ya …. He made bad decisions)

The sentencing I thought was appropriate and merciful. The minimum sentence was 20 years, the max was life. Jury gave him 35 years which essentially says that Anthony acted so horribly and with such depravity that the minimum sentence was not enough BUT also acknowledged that Anthony made a terrible decision in the moment and that a life sentence wouldn’t be appropriate.
lastly, the comparisons to Rittenhouse that some of the lefties are making… that’s just lunacy.
