Theypost links to the bands the "like" on their Facebook page, and then those are <span style="font-weight: bold;">usually</span> who gets invited.

Notables: B.O.B, Cee-Lo, Greg Allman, Jason Mraz, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ke$ha, Ludacris, <span style="font-weight: bold;">Mumford and Sons, </span>Slightly Stoopid, Sublime (with Rome), <span style="font-weight: bold;">The Avett Brothers, </span>Flaming Lips, Tommy Castro, Wilco.

Avett Brothers are the best live act I've ever seen. I'd go just for them and Mumford. To either.

Everyone has different musical tastes, but if you think those are the only performers "worth seeing", we can all presume you are pretty upset Nickelback is the headliner.

Keb Mo, Justin Townes Earle, Ahmad Jamal, Ricky Skaggs, Alvin Youngblood Hart, The Decembrists, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Pete Fountain are strong.

Michelle Shocked, Charlie Musselwhite, Edie Brickell, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Buckwheat Zydeco, Bobby Blue Bland, Marcia Ball, Beausoleil, Cowboy Mouth, and Preservation Hall Jazz Bandare good 'undercard' performers for the second weekend.

Robert Plant andDumpstaphunk areawesome, I dont really like R&B so dont know how it will be with John Legend but I saw the roots this summer and it was an awesome show. Robert Cray, TheAvett Brothers and Mumford and Sons are worth seeing, Jeff Beck is worth seeing. I'm sure wyclef will at least be high energy.

The neville brothers will be awesome as will trombone shorty and wilco, Mystikal will do some wild **** in new orleans, Lupe is pretty talented if you like curren$y or wizor anybody like that you'll like him. willie nelson is worth seeing and of courseyou gotta see greg allman blues band... Michael Franti gets on my nerves but I've seen him twice while seeing other people and his show is pretty fun, brings a big band out there.

Not a terrible lineup, but definitely the worst i can remember i mean cyndi lauper, bon jovi, jason mraz, kid rock, etc? garbage, come on jazzfest. but at least most of the random people you havent heard are jazz musicians so you cant really go wrong.

I'm not a Kenny G fan, but I never understood all the hate for him. He's far more talented than most of the 17 rock musicians out there now.

might disagree with that.
Anybody else think he gets booed? You'd think if there was one thing that New Orleanians wouldn't tolerate, it's crappy music.

Also, if you go to Memphis in May, be sure to heckle Kesha and the idiots that would pay to see her (yes, I'm a judgmental *** when it comes to music.)

Was thinking the same thing.

Everytime I hear his latest single I think, "first you ripped off Warren Zevon and Lynyrd Skynyrd and now you are trying to steal Bob Segar's sound."

If there has ever been a less original artist, I'm not sure who it is.

And the criticism from serious musicians is justified. I'm just not getting the hate from the masses. He's better than most of the pop 'artists' and rock bands that cannot sing songs about anything besides sex in a non-creative manner. It's just that when his name pops up you get hate whereas with the bad pop artists you get mainly indifference. I suppose it's his staying power. No one will remember Kesha in 10 years. Kenny G will still be around.

Don't get me wrong I'm not a huge kid rock fan and don't care if I ever see him live or not, but based on the names at that show to ME he is worth seeing. I like his old stuff and to be honest with you I have not heard any new stuff from him. I have never heard of most of those acts to be totally honest. I don't like nickelback. I don't like Rap and RnB, bon jovi, mellencamp, etc. So yeah my opinion is the whole lineup as a whole sucks. Now if they would cowboy mouth, 7mary3, etc then it would be good. I'm into chevelle, breaking benjamin, Ax7, seether, etc etc. There Is some talent in chevelle and Ax7.

This is the 25th Aniv. of the Radiators and will be their last Fest show.<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Obviously you are very young and so are your music tastes.</span> <span style="font-weight: bold;">The fest tries to cater to all ages and types of music.</span> Jeff Beck is one of the best guitarists of my lifetime, ever her of Led Zeppelin(Robert Plant), Willie Nelson is always classic, Robert Randolph rocks, as does Wilco, The Roots with John Ledgend will be epic, Wyclef is a great musician, you ever hear of Robert Cray or Greg Allman, and Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk and Papa Grows Funk are great new funk bands... Expand your music tastes and your mind young grasshopper... You will thank me later in life..

You are doing it wrong. There are plenty of bands on that list that I want to see: Arcade Fire, the Decemberists, Dr. John, Toussaint, Mumford and Sons, Justin Townes Earle, the Strokes, and several others. Jazz Fest is the best music festival of the year, and its an excuse to go play in NOLA.

would make the ticket worth it by themselves. then, Avett Bros, Mumford and Strokes (they'll be playing their new stuff) will be icing on the cake. otherwise, total suckage as usual music wise. if you like beer and sweating then it'll still be fun.

I understand that taste in music is completely subjective, but you like some pretty ****** bands. Kid Rock has no business ever performing at JazzFest. Ever.

Especially compared to the Wakarusa lineup.<div>
</div><div>Galactic and Wilco play on the same day. Hopefully back to back. I'll be there for that. Living a few blocks away will entice multi-day attendance, but I haven't really decided what other days will be worth it. Most of the big acts don't seem like the festival type.</div><div>
</div><div>Jazzfest weekends are always fun though. The neighborhood becomes a party.</div>

So I can start driving in the opposite direction as quickly as possible. Although I don't think I like any of the bands you don't like either. <div>
</div><div>Wilco, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Avett Brothers, Jimmy Buffet, Wyclef Jean--it's not that bad.</div>

People that I'm excited to see: Arcade Fire, Wilco, Avett Brothers, Mumford, Justin Townes Earle, Punch Brothers, The Decemberists, The Strokes, Robert Randolph, Keb Mo, Jon Cleary, Low Anthem, Arlo Guthrie and the usual Neville ending.

I can bet Galactic will be on before Wilco. Better than Ezra will be on before Arcade Fire. I hope they don't pull a Bonnaroo and put the Avett's opposite of Mumford at the same time.

The best part of the Fest is the food. I can't wait for the Cochon po'boy and also crawfish bread.

I guess the problem here is I have literally NEVER heard of any of these bands except robert randolph. I guess I'm deprived or something. I only listen to 979cpr.... Its the best newer real rock radio station ever, plus all these other bands probably aren't on the radio. I will definately look some of these bands up to see what the deal is.
