College basketball in general is hard to watch these days due to the terrible play. Especially compared to the NBA. But the SEC is just horrible this year.

So a bunch of over-paid prima donnas who literally walk up & down the court & heave up 45 ft. shots just for the hell of it is better than college basketball?

Just compare college basketball from the late 90's to that of today. College basket was great. Think of those Kentucky, Duke, Michigan, UNKV and North Carolina teams and compare that to what you have seen in the last few Final Fours. That was before all the best players went pro out of high school or after one year of college. The skill level of the players in the NBA is just sick.

...in college basketball the coach actually plays a role in the game. In the NBA, the coach is nothing but a ceremonial figurhead & publicity pimp for the team.

Something else that makes me cringe about the NBA: All these ******* celebrities showing up @ the games because "they love basketball."

They don't know **** about basketball; they just love to bask in the "atmosphere" & get a little free TV time. Plus the players they are watching are their favorite drug dealers & orgy participants.

If you love watching basketball played at the highest skill level then todays NBA has never been better. College basketball these days is difficult to watch because of the unforced turnovers and the post play is so abismal. Many game you would not be able to tell the difference from a high school game. Many college teams(not just MSU) have settled for the 20+ feet from the basket mentality of jacking as many 3's as possible, because there are very few skilled post men in college. The argument about how there is no defense in the NBA or that the players are lazy are made by people who don't watch games from start to finish. I completely agree that the influx of high school players to the pros has cheapened the college game and enriched the pros.

Passing, low post footwork, shooting ability is awesome. Combined with the athleticism of American players the NBA is fantastic. It really is painful watching a lot of college basketball. The college game is closer to high school basketball than it is to the NBA.

It's a combination of the one and done mentality and the AAU circuit that have ruined college basketball.

First off, it's the dirtiest of all college sports now. The cheating is organized to the point that you have almost zero chance to win if you don't cheat.

The sad part is, you're cheating for players that are good athletes with zero fundamentals. They've played street ball for so long that they are almost impossible to teach.

It's the reason why a veteran team like Butler had a chance to make a run like they did last year. There are coaches out there that can actually reel some of their players in and teach them real basketball, but there aren't many.

I think it was Jay Bilas who was complaining about the bubble last year and how it was the weakest bubble ever. You can attribute that to the fact that you have even fewer teams these days that play good basketball, which leads to a lot more erratic teams on the bubble that can't play well consistently.

-The NBA schedule makesgames 10-58 totally unimportant. There are too many games.
-The fact that16 teams make the playoffs and they last for damn near 3 entire monthscheapens the regular season even more and makes the season way too long.
-NBA players making so muchdamn money for such little production cheapens the product and makes it difficultto support them when they arent productive and trying their hardest.
-Too many coaches in the NBA are damn near meaningless. They have little power. They make less then the stars and are just well paid babysitters.
-A fewkey rules in the NBA are a disgrace to logic. Why the hell can someone shoot from 50 feet away when they are fouled when they clearly werent in the actof shooting? The rule of continuationis just awful. If they werent in the act of shooting at the time of the foul, then they dont get foul shots. THAT SIMPLE. Also, why the **** can you call a timeoutafter a basket by the other team and you then get the ball over halfcourt?!?! THAT MAKES NO SENSE AND IT TOTALLY F's UP THE GAME!!!

The NBA has the best of the best when it comes to athletes, skill players, and overall talent. But with those great things comes a **** bag of issues that makes the game awful at times to watch. Sometimes the games are great, but most of them are just not meaningful enough to be a good product.

Did you see the SportsCenter Highlight, looked like his daddy. Marcus is a sophomore and is leading the team in scoring.

The reason I can't stomach the NBA is the fact that they play for months, then half of the damn teams make the playoffs, then the playoffs go on for months more after that.

The NFL and MLB have their playoffs about right. There are few enough teams who make them so that #1, it's an accomplishment, and #2, they can be played in a reasonable amount of time. The structure of the NBA season and playoffs is an abomination.

ETA: I also agree with the statements that college basketball is an inferior product these days.
