Geez!! I know we’re all homers here and football season is down the drain. Didn’t think we’d want to see our best rivalries completely neutered lol

If we retreat back into Big Ten history, we see that they said the same thing in the Chicago press about the University of Chicago football team. Multiple Big Ten champs, the faded out of the picture by the 1940’s. Football didn’t really need them and it doesn’t need Iowa Wrestling in any particular way now. Leave em’ alone. TNT are killin it.
Ummmm…….. UChicago football didn’t fade from history, their president dropped the program in 1939 because he believed that big time football and academics did not mix. They didn’t have football again until the late 60s.

That might end up being the case, but then why hasn't he committed already?
Not sure I follow this logic. Singer could announce any time now. The fact that he has't done so yet doesn't mean much.

Unless I'm missing something, which wouldn't be the first time.

That's true. But he took his official there weeks ago and is living there ... so why wouldn't he announce if it's certain? Unless it's not certain yet.

BTW, his brother Jason is committed to Lehigh, and has not decommitted.

They still attract talent. The problem is just like Arnold was going to be the next 4 time champ, and now Ferrari is the next 4 time champ, and Bo was going to be the next 4 time champ, and now this kid is the next 4 time champ the talent attracted to Iowa's tradition and grind never find the gold. Talent will show up, they will become tough as hell and they will be limited in their success. Then they will rinse it and repeat it expecting better results.
TBH.... i dont think it is fair to expect any of these kids to come in and be a 4x NCAA champ. look we got Blaze... and PJ Duke and while 4x champ is not out of the question. It is not Caels way. It is wrestle you best, work your tail off and continue to improve... and lets see where you stand at the end of the day. He has landed Starocci and Brooks as 4 and even 5x ers. but Ruth, Nolf, Zain, Nickal.... they were not 4x champs and yet they set the precedent for a dynasty. Heck DT was a 2x champ and look at the impact he had! Arnold, Ferrari, and some of these guys are really good but they are making it about beating PSU...as the line of success. Thats Iowas real problem... (THEY ARE FOCUSED MORE ON PSU then on IOWA)

By my math, after his redshirt, Amato will start wrestling just as Kueter and Arnold are leaving. So, just to tread water Iowa needs to land recruits in the 2027 class on par with their 2023 class, which means Kueter, Arnold and also includes Ryder Block. Amato seems to be about Block’s pedigree, so they need a couple top 5 commits now or they continue to regress towards irrelevancy.
thats true if they were not so active in the portal. I said the other day... they have become portal dependent (but they do it well)

Willie previously mentioned on that board the next reranking Amato was going to fall from #3, Flo has him #30 right now. This was before his performance at Elite 8 duals where some Iowa fans expressed concern about his offensive production there. Quite a few expressed skepticism for a while that he was really a Top 5 level guy.

Will say the kids potential is pretty obvious though.
He probably is a little over rated but still a very good get for a program that desperately needs a very good get right now!

Well … the President of University of Iowa won’t make that mistake. By the way, after winning the Big Ten twice in the 20’s, the Univ of Chicago football team had a long swoon before the Prez pulled the plug.

Which means Tan Tom will also get Ariah Mills.
This has been rumored in Columbia for a month or so that Mills could flip. Teequavious also committed with Antonio so I’m wondering if he stays or goes he’s the middle brother of Antonio and Uriah. Speculation started when Uriah was wearing tOSU gear at the trails and the world championships.

I completely forgot about Block. Kasak beat him in a close match at the Pittsburgh Classic and then it seems like Block went MIA.

Nate didn't make the Seals but is still in the Navy and has been back on the mat lately and looks great. I hope he finds that love again and we see him at Navy with Kolat
Is he at the Naval Academy? If not, can he compete at Navy?

Disagree
Iowa is a cornerstone of wrestling fandom and viewership. I love seeing PSU wipe the mat with them in a dual, but I like it when it’s our title contender taking out their all American contender
It’s not our fault they have nose dived. The game has changed and they haven’t adapted. That’s on them.
