Looks like this one should be a dandy. I have a question for Charlotte folks. Considering how we travel what is the seating capacity at Charlotte Christian stadium?

I hear their stadium isn't that big, might be standing room only. We have to be very focused this week; CC is a very disciplined team that does not make many mistakes.

I just goggled it and it looks likes seating is just on the Home side with bleachers running from the 25 to the 25. Yep I'd say standing room only.

I see a small set of bleachers on the visitor's side, 20 yards long and about 7 rows high. Still standing room only.

We have better depth than in many previous years. Nygil is a loss, but there are others who can step up and contribute. This ND team is not a one trick, one dimensional team. QB has a "mastery" of the system and can spread the ball. TJ has proven he can make plays on the ground. I think the offense is more balanced than last year. We can win this game, even without him. Don't get me wrong, we need him back for the long haul and we are a better team with him. Hopefully he'll be that much fresher and hungry when he returns in early October. Knights by 6+ points in this one.....

Most of what I have been reading is that people expect this to be a very competitive game. I was just wondering if he felt that Christian was that much better than ND.

I was in no way implying that ND was a one trick pony. I have seen every game this year (plus most every game for the last 6 or 7 years), and there is a lot of talent. The Dalton injury will have an impact, though. He is always good for a big play or two, and plays both ways and special teams. I like that some of the other kids will get to step up. It should help later down the road.

I'm betting they feel like they can win this one, same as us. Both teams are good enough to win it, curious which one will play their best game or even who can make the best adjustments. Could come down to a very small detail or two in a game like this one. Will be a good win if we can get it. Hope the ND boys are working hard....should be a great game.

Christian has been some very good teams. Charlotte Catholic the reigning state champs being one of them. I can't remember but did ND not just win by 1'point over 2A North Rowan and only score once? Most likely ND will need to score 30 to win. I don't know anything about North but they will need a great defensive effort to beat a team as disciplined and a sound execution squad.

ND is usually tough in the trenches.

Christian coaching staff is very good but I think Coach Holcomb is sharp also. Christian is going to execute properly and make very few mistakes. That is their MO. Do not judge them by the initial review. ND's big advantage is numbers with depth. I would try to keep the play moving at all times if I am ND's OC. Spread then our, try to hurry up. Run as many plays as possible.

Should be a good game!

You are correct, you know nothing about ND. Especially the schedule lol.

North's QB definitely has a mastery of the offense, colleges should be knocking his door down . But this offense does miss McCoy (scored his 1st TD for WVU this past weekend) and the wr Griffith from last year. There have been several drops by the receivers this year and losing Dalton is a big blow, but Holcomb is a very good coach and will use the next man up. North's young players are getting better each week.

Don't know anything about Christian other than they beat Catholic so they must be a very good and well coached team.

Christian is one of the best teams in Charlotte. Excellent coaching and discipline. Bring your A game, and don't get all obsessed with the QB they got and forget about their D1 RB they got, he can burn you too

Hey CC14, curious what you think are the keys to beating them after having watched them in person. Other than their kicker, don't know a thing about them. You guys played them almost a month ago, wondering if you thought the outcome would be different a month later in a mythical matchup. First game of the year is always hard to predict....

Their QB is very good at short/intermediate passes. He never tried anything really deep on us. He can run too you have to contain him. People are enamored with him. but they have a D1 RB who is I think(maybe just offered) committed to Wisconsin. Their defense is stout and well coached.
Do not turn the ball over, that is what killed Catholic. 4 turnovers. The outcome would be different if CC/Christian played now because we wouldn't give them points off turnovers.
They run a hurry up style offense as well similar to Clemson. They are good though, well coached, very fundamentally sound football team. You'll need to bring your A game but I think ND can pull it off, just cannot slouch around and expect to win.

Thanks for the feedback, excited for the game. Good early season test for our team. I know their special teams are really strong as well. Like I said, looking forward to what is hopefully a BLACK Knight victory.

Just saw the post about 7 PM kickoff.....is that right? Didn't realize that and I have a child on the team who obviously doesn't communicate well (can't blame that one on his mother!!). Anyway, is that right? With traffic on 85 South on a Friday, better leave early if you are a ND fan and want to make the early kickoff. Almost every time I try to drive that way on a Friday, I-85 moves horribly slow from about exit 68 (China Grove area) all the way until about the exit to 485, past Concord Mills (maybe exit 48). Seriously if you hit that portion of I-85 after 4:30 that afternoon, you will have delays. Better to get there early and watch warm ups than to miss kick off stuck in your car(s).

Pumped about game. Maybe we will make WSOC highlights but they won't say BIG 22 for any of our guys. LOL

I have also used the exit 58 that cuts across Concord. A little bit of construction at the exit, but other than stop lights and normal rush hour traffic, it's not too bad. Will run you right beside Charlotte Motor Speedway and out you out on 485 headed toward Matthews.

HOPE WE PACK THE STANDS!!!

Wow.....is it really that bad for seating? I thought we did a good job of filling the visitor side when we played you guys, same with Scotland Co in the previous round?

If the MC/SP game was on a Saturday or Thursday I'd be at this one, but I want to see how MC does against I believe one of the better teams in the country (South Pointe is ranked #35 in the nation, MC is #10)

We still have enough weapons in the trunk to walk out of this one victorious. I do think it will be a battle win or lose.
