MA, what schools were the Offers from?

This is what I've found. I'm going off numbers/names from MaxPreps. They dont have a #99 listed.

#4 - Campbell & Sacred Heart University
#22 - Campbell, Sacred Heart University, NC Central. Has multiple visits to others, but couldn't find anything about offers.

Looks like Sacred Heart is up north in CT. Best I could tell they are FCS independent in football.

what are some thoughts about the actual game? I know NS has Leftwich (UPenn commit) and MA has Martin, Joyce, Goins and Clabo (schools stated above). Who are some others that impact the game?

66 is listed as Ethan Clabo. All I found was East Tennessee State. That was an offer.
Clabo changed to 99 after season started.

#15 MA has shown he can throw it deep. He is just young and inexperienced at V LEVEL.

Does Mt. Airy have a connection to Sacred Heart University that they are Recruiting MA so heavily?

I guess Martin ,Joyce and Leftwich top recruits in conference. I think Akers from West Stokes has offers from Gardner Webb and FIU..

Off topic…Mayberry Truck Show should make traffic real interesting. Leaving Bottomley at 6 to be downtown around 630

Great cause, but will cause some delays getting there.

Honestly, I've never heard of them and don't have a connection to the coaches to answer. Maybe one of these MA faithful have more answers.
Usually with these small colleges recruiting several players from same HS there is a connection to the HS. Especially a college from Connecticut.

Are those the 3 from Mt. Airy? Which was was 66 that is now 99?
No Leftwich is #3 at North Surry. Has speed plays multiple positions. #99 is Clabo i didn't mention him but I'm sure with his size getting looks also. His dad played at Wake Forest and in Wake hall of fame. Played 8 years for Atlanta Falcons.

At this time all I can do is compare schedules.

North Surry’s schedule so far.

2A 8th 4-1 Allegheny - lost 28-20

3A 30th 3-2 West Wilkes - won 7-3

2A 34th 2-3 Patrick County - won 41-17

3A 38th 2-2 North Wilkes - won 37-14

3A 42nd 1-4 Northwood - won 42-15
——————————————————
Mount Airy’s schedule so far.

2A 4th 4-2 Starmount - won 21-6

2A 7th 3-2 East Wilkes - won 23-16

6A 2nd 5-0 Watauga - lost 61-7

4A 5th 4-2 Jefferson Forest - lost 42-7

6A 43rd 2-3 St. Stephens - won 36-28
——————————————————
What would North Surry’s record be with Mount Airy’s schedule?
Also what would Mount Airy be with North’s scheduled?

As for the RPI ranking thats a joke.
If the playoffs started this Friday North Surry would be ranked 3rd in 4A with 1st playoff game at home.
They have yet to play a 4A or higher school.
I predict the same thing will happen like last year.
A visiting team like East Rutherford who was 6th in the state will come to town and win the first round.
FYI - wouldn’t they not get a bye? Top teams get a 1st round bye

I get your point and no I don't think NS was a top 10 team in 2A last season. They did play ER tough for 4 qtrs and that same team beat Reidsville the next week. The bigger the classification the deeper the playoff pool and NWNC typically struggles with teams from in around WS/Greensboro, Hickory, Charlotte areas. The RPI is flawed but gets it pretty close by the end of the season when you look at it from the "whole."

NS will need to win the TO battle to have any shot of being competitive. Can their OL do anything with MA DL is a huge question mark. I don't think anyone sees this thing being competitive.

haven't heard any rumors but I've heard #99 used to wear #66 before the switch to #99 because he has switched positions which allows him to wear #99 instead of #66 and I think his dad is also a coach, who played at WF and also in the NFL.

He was #21 also last few season. But you already knew that!

As MA Stud says, we should have everyone back and healthy. On a talent basis, MA should win going away in this game.
But North Surry is one of the two largest rivalries, other being East Surry.

The real questions to me are:
A. Will MA be ready as a TEAM? Emotions can be a problem; but they can be a blessing.
B. Has the Coaching staff learned they need a new game plan?
C. Have they had time to put it into place?
I asked and posted the questions; well let me answer them now that we are past the game:

A; Yes Mount Airy players and coaches were ready for the game, for the most part. A couple of times both lapsed. At 21 to 7, both got a little "lost" thinking they had this game. But North Surry was also ready for the game and came storming back.
So how did MA not show up? Example, after North's 3rd TD, MA PAT defense just flat out stood and not rushed anybody. Then North on sided a kick and got it, which they did it at least once more in the game (2nd half kickoff).

But then, after some choice words and instruction the D stood up and did not allow another NS score.

B. This question is answered not only with a Big Yes, it is a Hell Yes. Not sure how or where the change came from, but the play book got a lot thicker and was applied quite successfully. And the change was not just offensively but also defensively.

Shortly after NS scored the 3rd TD, the defense was changed in such a way that North never figured out hold to attach it on the ground successfully. They did a very good job passing the ball but the run game was just shut down.

C. The result speaks for itself.

Comment: If MA had played this way against Watauga and Jefferson Forest the end result probably would have not changed but I believe the games would have been much different. If MA had also been full strength, I believe we "could have" beaten Jefferson Forest, not Watauga. LOL

Also, MA still had 4 starters out last night but they were a different four than the past 5 games. Two of these four should be back next week, one out for at least two weeks, and one will not be back at all, is my understanding.

Make no mistake, North Surry is a much-improved team, with a really good QB, and some really good receivers. Their line is not bad for the normal high school 4A team. They will most likely not lose another game unless it is against East Surry.
