New/old conference is back again.

Watauga is the team to beat until proven otherwise. Not sure how much they lost from last season, but they should win the league again.

Freedom is the only team I can see really being a threat to Watauga.

Alexander Central probably finishes 3rd.

McDowell is my pick for 4th, but it all depends on the line play and if kids can buy into the new coach's system. They have more talent than most years, but I worry about their defense.

I heard South Caldwell lost quite a bit, but they usually can score.

AC, McDowell, St Stephens, and South Caldwell could finish anywhere from 3-6.

1. Watauga
2. Freedom
3. Alexander Central
4. McDowell
5. St Stephens
6. South Caldwell

I did hear Alexander Central brings back a lot. Correct me if I’m wrong on that. If so they might be a good contender for 2nd spot. But I don’t know all who Freedom brings in this year.

Freedom is due to show out this year. They have had plenty of speed over the last few years and I understand their new coach has stressed the weight room, so watch for the Patriots to be a better force.

New rosters haven't been posted on MaxPreps yet, but Freedom should have back QB Kaden Davis and WR/DB Kobe Johnson. Really curious to see what offers Johnson gets. He's a fantastic athlete and might just get a D1 scholarship somewhere. Davis can sling it, but we'll have to see what other targets emerge for Freedom. Putting the double team on Johnson could make it hard for the Patriot offense to get rolling.
