Seriously? Sorry but I`m watching a football game on another channel.
Yep. Refs warned them too. Reminds me of Colorado 2005. I was at that game. Security had to stop the game and escort the student sections off the field. Pure trash fans.
I remember that game.
Fans throwing bottles on the field...what trash.
Do they think the refs are jobbing them or is it a reaction to the play on the field by the Hawkeyes? I missed it as I was in the kitchen cooking.
I perused the thread on the Hawkeye board (I don't comment on other teams' boards unless it's complimentary.) They are complaining about missed holding calls on NW.

Iowa's QB was sacked on what appeared to be his facemask on third down. No flag.
Iowa punted. First NW play, the player was brought down by his facemask, which drew half a dozen flags. (You can't make up the timing on this)
A player mouthed off to the ref and got an additional personal foul, then the crowd got out of control, flipping off the sky/refs/their parents at home...and some bottles were thrown on the field.
As a reminder, this is basically the same Iowa team from last year. Last year, they won the close games and momentum built over the course of the season to where they were a pretty nice team. This exact thing can happen at Nebraska where one year they go 6-7 and the next year can have a whole different outcome. Don't underestimate what momentum can do to a team.
Give ferentz another 10vyear extension!!Wisconsin will be our hurdle in the West. Not Iowa.
Based on the replays it looked to me as if NW should have been flagged. But what was amusing was seeing the Iowa fans go ape---- over the subsequent face mask call. What are the refs supposed to do? Because they missed the first call, are they supposed to let the Iowa LB drag the runner down by an obvious handful of face mask, and just keep their flags in their pockets?I watched the game live. The face mask everyonewas worked up about the guy had him under his shoulder pads from what I saw. Turned his entire upper body.
Could see how it was seen as a missed face mask. I'll wait for pictures to prove it but I didn't see a blatant face mask.
You must have been watching a different replay than the ones I saw. I saw shoulder pad only. My huuuuuuge hi-def screen didn't show any face mask. The ref was in perfect position to see it and was looking right at it. It looked bad with the way the QB's head moved but I really don't think the tackler had his mask.Based on the replays it looked to me as if NW should have been flagged. That's possible. I thought the tackler got a couple of fingers just inside the headgear, down near the earhole area. But in any case, it could have been the worst missed call in the history of football and it wouldn't have justified swallowing the flag on the Iowa face mask a few plays later. Let me be the first to say maybe that win @ Northwestern is a bit better than some here thought. (only trying to counter the posters who jumped so quickly on how the Oregon win wasn't so great because CU beat them.)
