but the team has to realize that. What we learned tonight is that we won't be a contender for the SEC overall championship. We can still win the West and sneak into the tourney.

We MUST win at Georgia Saturday. It's that simple.

who is going to win the West...I think we will lock down 2nd pretty easily, but we must get 10 conference wins to make the Tourney

I think we'll split with LSU... But at the same time, LSU doesn't seem to be a great road team (OM game aside) but I may be wrong. I think we can contend, but I think it'll come down to us and LSU

...and will probably win the west. I agree with coach that we should finish second and will need at least 10 wins

and we are young with not enough inside beef....

this is a reality check and the #2 team from the west will not make it to the big dance... we'll be lucky to finish #2...

please ....it is time for baseball...

Sure it'd be nice, and back-to-back losses could definitely cause a downward spiral effect on our confidence, but statistically it's not a must win game. After a night like tonight, it's gonna be hard to go back on the road and beat a team that's had an entire week to prepare. They're also desperate for an SEC win. If we can protect the home court, all we need is two more road wins to finish 11-5. Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn are winnable road games.

That being said, 11-5 still might not be good enough for the West, as evidenced by LSU's effort tonight. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Tigers have a chance at contending for the overall conference title. They have all the tools and experience to do it, not to mention a solid head coach. And while 11-5 might only get us 2nd, it outta be enough for a tourney bid, especially if we can win a game in Tampa.

Now, did we look like a team that's gonna go 11-5 in Baton Rouge? Nope. But it's just one game.

True, but Georgia is much more winnable-er than at least two of those if not all three. It might be our best shot left at a road win.

after the 2 embarassing losses...we went on a run .. I got my hopes up and they were thwarted ....

the only thing that can get me excited about hoops is us having a shot at finally reaching the sweet 16....

that *** whippin last night shows that we are still a year off.... it was convincing enough to show me we ain't dancin' this year....

how many sweet 16 teams take 24 point beat downs during the regular season?

UConn got obliterated by Georgetown this year... i think they have a fair chance to make the 16...

i'm not ready to give up on 'em, yet.

UGA is horrible..
We have to win this game or it's going to be a long stretch run..

We were out rebounded last night by 20, that's right 20.
We shot 5-20 from 3 point land, that is not going to get it done anywhere.
Like I said we live and die by the 3 pointer, last night we died.

i agree, if you are expecting baseball to make you feel better, you might not want to ever come to starkville. will we be better? yeah, but not much. competitive at the most. Cohen is a stud coach, not a miracle worker.

to be optimistic about. The 3 teams we've beaten are a combined 3-8 in conference play. 2 of those 3 wins are from an obviously poor Bama team. It's clear we're going to be a streaky team. We're lucky UGA is up next. We need all the confidence we can get.
