Is the bigger problem w/ this team the prima-dona attitudes ? Is it possible to have so many divas on the damn team that no coach can get through ?

I have always felt that Stansbury was a average to good coach that lately can't seem to design a good play, & has trouble w/ penetration, but what if it is more of a attitude w/ the player problems ?

Sidney talks about himself in the 3rd person, Bost thinks he has NBA talent, & Kodi thought in his mind he was first round draft material last year.......I look at all 3 of these guys & say they spend more time blaming somebody else rather than looking in the mirror & realizing the problem starts w/ them..

I think the bad part of this is Elgin Bailey is not physically capable of letting his play dictate an example on the floor, otherwise I think he could better lead by example. Elgin seems to be that "blue collar" player that if physically able, would actually have a shot @ being a role player in the NBA.

Main point being, is that these guys dominated in highschool, & somebody said you can make it to the NBA w/ that kind of play, & they stopped working to get bettter, & b/c of their background, they are not capable of looking in the mirror.

I know it's Stansbury's job to bring the team together, but having some experience w/ what I think is their mindset, no coach can get through to these kind of head cases.

Stansbury's downfall is going to be too much talent w/ no work ethic......makes me think of how Mullen is recruiting is the complete opposite of Stansbury

These guys may end up in NBA Europe, but I highly doubt that NBA Europe was what they were dreaming of in high school & college.

Stansbury needs to stop recruiting head cases, & start recruiting guys that want to work to be better, & he needs to get some assistant coaches that can produce

I think it is too many head cases / prima donnas / divas, coaching is part of the problem, but not all of it

I completely agree that we have way too many head cases, pussies, and drama queens on this team. But these are HIS head cases, pussies, and drama queens. It's his responsibility to either recruit better people or to handle them better once he got them. He's done it both ways in the past, recruiting better people in the Roberts, Zimmerman, Power, Bowers days; and by handling them better in the Gordon, Rhodes days (say what you will about those guys, but when the game tipped off they played their asses off and they didn't spend a lot of time on suspension). But the last 2-3 years, he's failed on both counts and it's really caught up to him this year.

Bottom line is, when you've been at a school for 4+ years, whatever happens is ALL on you.

Maybe it's just because of the drama in our program the last few years, but college basketball is starting to sound like a junior varsity version of the NBA. Too many guysthat think they are they're the greatest thing to ever step on a basketball court before they've even earned their first start. And not enough guys like Barry Stewart or Varnado.

Is it justa MSU problem, or is it more nationwide? I really don't watch much basketball outside of MSU until March so I have no idea how widespread this is. But seems like everytime you turn around someone is bitching about playing time & transferring.

The AAU and the NBA's 1-year ruleare absolutely killing college basketball.

Look at the ACC and they are having the same problems as the SEC.

GT, Wake, UVA, FSU, Miami, NC State, VT, Clemson, Maryland, - all of theses schools have plenty of talent and many with good basketball traditions, but they all have been average to crap in recent years. GT is a perfect example - how many NBA players are on that team and they can't even go .500. Even UNC the past two years has been average at best.

There is something wrong in the Southeast with prep-level hoops. Probably the AAU issues so often discussed, but if your school is located in the Southeast and you don't recruit nationally you're pretty much crap right now.

Look around. It isn't just happening at State.

NBA games are fun to go to if you want to watch a showcase of premier individual talents. Those guys are great at what they do - I get that. But, I just don't care for the sport in general - I don't like keeping up with it.

I used to like college basketball. Now it's morphed into a league where there are a handful of premier programs that can reload the best talent year after year and always remain competitive. Then, there are the programs like us that have to deal with the leftover **** that thinks they should be part of said premier programs and are 1 and done players. These children buy into the notion that they are going to be the next Bron Bron when they are 14 years old and when they can't translate their undeveloped AAU skills to college basketball, they cry about it instead of fixing it. I hate it.

At least in football, an ambitious 18 year old with unrealistic expectations will be brought back to reality when their *** gets planted into the turf on a consistent basis by faster, stronger, and wiser players that have been their for a few years. Not to mention they are compared to 24+ other recruits. They may not like it, but at least they are forced to to deal with it unlike their basketball counterparts that need their egos stroked.

I'm rooting for the mid-majors here out...
