And so was K and just about every one. I assume Brennan followed the ncaa ruIes. Hell, he lived by the SEC rules.

Quoting bilas - oh my. lol
In Wooden's case he had far more than just a cheating booster run his recruiting. He also had free passage to all the FFs. When he coached the country was broken into regions and the west at that time was a joke with virtually no competition to impede UCLA into the final four year after year.

Of course once there he still had to win 2 games but that's where his turning a blind eye to Gilbert finished the job.

Great hire for BC. Luke would have been near the top of my list if SHU opened. Interested to see how he does there. On the one hand, BC is a career killer but on the other hand it’s pretty easy to win in the ACC these days.

Arizona St. hires Bennett as HC; Saint Mary's promotes McConnell

So Randy Bennett finally left Saint Mary's. Great hire. ASU is considered a tough job for a high major in that league, but interested to see how he does there, as I personally think he's a really good coach. Apparently he has family in the area, so I wonder if that combined with the NIL/portal world is what made him finally jump. At 63 perhaps he think this is the time to make the high major move.

Now being told that Luke Murray, an assistant at UConn is on campus at BC for the 3rd time and it looks like he is getting the job.

Did they make concessions on increasing NIL? Because its kinda weird for him to take that gig otherwise.

Sources: Cincinnati to hire Utah State's Calhoun as coach

This is the one everyone had pegged from the moment Wes Miller got fired. From the area, coached at UC under Huggy Bear, and has done a great job in a short period of time. Utah St has become this breeding ground for high major coaches. Calhoun is the 4th consecutive guy in a relatively short period who had success there and jumped to a high major. And I bet on them "hitting" again with the next coach because they have this Xavier pre-Travis Steele run going of making a bunch of consecutive HC hires that worked out.

Great post. They're in the same sphere as VCU (that list is insane) and also Drake (Medved, DeVries and McCollum are insanely good hires for a MVC team). Medved was only there for one year though and went .500

If Sha were to move on my vision of SHU staying relevant is leaning into becoming a team like this but puts a heavy emphasis on a system or just investing into a front office that also builds a reputation for schooling and graduating young up & coming minds in the NBA / College personnel world.

The big-name coaching candidates North Carolina is looking at after Hubert Davis firing — including a star NBA executive

In the NIL era I just don't see Lloyd or May jumping ship. The former is from the west coast, the latter already turned down his dream job (Indiana) and both have ample resources from their schools to compete.

ISU's coach has a really small buyout but his wife went to ISU so maybe he stays. Would be brutal for them to lose Campbell and TJ in the same year.

I dont know why he will take it he will be shown the door in fast order
I'm not so sure about that. The culture within BC's Athletic department is starting to change. Fans & boosters are finally tired of all the losing. They have a ton of $ & with NIL/portal, can get good really fast..

What i find funny you have these conferences of 14 or more schools not every school realistically is going to be able to get good fast regardless of resources ($$) allocation

I think he’s one of the best basketball coaches in the country. He’d be be in my top 5 for sure. I’m fascinated to see how he does at the high major level. If he’s able to handle the programmatic part (which is a pretty large question mark for a 63-year-old who is used to coaching under/off the radar kids), I think we will see ASU in the top 10 in short order.
