It didn't cost us. We still had a lead to start the bottom of the ninth with holder in the game. He's blown the save in both his appearances in the tourney.

with a team like kentucky that can hit with the best of em, gentry putting men on 2nd and 3rd with no outs cost us a run....in a game that went to extras. get that run back by putting holder in at the beginning of the inning instead of gentry who put 2 into scoring position without recording a single out was a critical mistake. we gifted them 2nd and 3rd in a tight ballgame. incredibly stupid move that i just dont get other than cohen trying to save holder....for what? i dont know.

i have been critical of holder at times, but the run he gave up was gentry's dude and the only significant hit against him was a bloop shot that only fell because we were in the reed shift. he did his job getting the pop-out and jamming reed...we just didnt record the out because our left field was playing left center. perhaps i am forgetting some hits against him, but he largely shut them down and kept us in the game.

Think what you may but Cohen's refusal to sacrifice cost us. Mingione didn't help the cause.

I thought we left Mitchell in too long. I was traveling all night, listening to bits & pieces, but it sounded he didn't have his best stuff and wasn't locating his pitches very well.

I think they got 1st & 3rd with no outs in the 6th. I told my wife he was done - then he faced 3 or 4 more batters.

This was the second most hits he gave up all year, and first outting (longer than one inning) without a strikeout.

A lot of things cost us. We should have won that game a half dozen times. Just one of those nights where we couldn't get the job done and/or catch a break. Can't believe I stayed up till 1:00 for that. Oh well, in the overall scheme of things, this game really didn't matter. We're a #2 seed no matter what.

Ultimately I think it was key base on balls that killed us. When you get a one

run lead like that late you have to hold onto it and we just kept setting Kentucky up to tie it and they did. I guys played hard and I'm proud of the effort. Two very close plays at home that could have gone our way that didn't, hey, that's baseball.

Time to bow out and rest up for our regional in my opinion.

I agree. We just simply didn't throw strikes. Multiple times. The other stuff happens, like you say. But you've got to throw strikes. And I agree too that I'd just as soon not play on Saturday. Going in to this tournament, I wanted to get 4 games in. I'd have been OK with a 5th if it was the championship game with us having a day of rest on Friday. But at this point, I think we just need to get some down the line pitchers some innings and go home.

Totally agree! But I hope we beat Florida today, I bet the tension in both dugouts with Cohen and O'Sullivan will be fun to watch! I can't stand O'Sullivan!

Does anyone have any idea as to how many runners we have lost going from 2nd to 3rd, or 3rd to home this season?

Maybe it just seems like a LOT to me.

I agree, why the hell do you bring in Gentry?

It's Holder or you keep Tatum in.

I also thiught we keep Ross Mitchell in too long...

Cohen will just piss you off all night long... But he's our dumbass..

Can't put the blame on Cohen last night, we had so many chances especially early in the game to put Ky away, we kept hitting singles and no extra base hits then we started leaving a ton of base runners on base last night. Players have to produce in tight games this time of the year.

maybe you can't blame JC, but it was a WTF moment for Me. If you are going to pitch Holder just bring His *** in to start the inning.
