I reacted to some of the posts on facebook with my same what should have happened spiel. Some guy replies and says it was Ferrie's fault we lost that game and the Tennessee game. I point out he was 7 for 8 before that miss. He doubles down and says exactly, 2 misses 2 losses.

Someone can't be that stupid, right?

I'm still convinced he made the kick against Florida
Bulldogs coach Jeff Lebby was asked after the game whether he ever received an explanation for the call. He relayed what he was told.

“I’ve been told it’s not (reviewable) because, again, what I was told was that it went right over the upright,” Lebby said. “I think, as I’ve watched the tape, it’s pretty fair. And they did, they said that not reviewable and as it goes right over the top of the upright was what I was told was not good.”

Yeah, I’ll admit that I didn’t realize until Saturday that a kick is no good in college if it passes over the upright. That said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kick that close being called no good

Turnovers cost us the Tennessee game. Falling to take advantage of coring opportunities, including the missed FG, cost us UF.

I would always go for the TD rather than put the game on the foot of a college student. But i was really hoping to see Ferrie redeem himself.

Those facebook group pages are the worst. I joined them a few years ago and left them within a week.

Idiots on there with no idea of the things they are talking about.

Bruce, read this board.

Blake Shapen is 124/185 (67%) with a rating of 146.9 while playing behind wet toilet paper for a pass blocking offensive line. He misses on 3 deep balls (while probably being our best deep ball qb ever) and you got morons saying he's terrible. He's 24/36 for 324 yards with a QBR of 73.8 against florida fyi.

Passing on 2nd down with 0:29 seconds left and no timeouts is probably the call 80 to 90% of the time but the recliner coaches know more than 80 to 90% of coaches.

Yes, they can be that stupid. Ferrie's first miss looked to be from an awkward snap/hold that messed with his rhythm. The second might have been good. I think he somehow missed a PAT somewhere along the line.

I won't even mention the poster's mathematical acuity. 8-7=2 ....

Ferrie might be the best kicker we've ever had. Which is what makes Libby's decision so puzzling, even though it was 46 yards or whatever.
We had a good kicker about 25 years ago, but I don't remember his name. I believe he was an engineering major with close to a 4.0 GPA. Ferrie is better though based on his accuracy from a distance.

The official under the goal on the right side never saw the kick. He looked at the other official and then waved no good.
Yeah, I was puzzled by the way he acted on that. He seemed to be watching the other official more than watching the ball. I agree that it was probably a miss (right over the post), but it didn't seem like the official actually had eyes on it.

I wrote 7 for 8 BEFORE the miss at UF. So it is 7 for 9 now. I was pointing out he has been successful.

A lot of fans will blame a close loss on a single play, but if the game was that close, there were probably several plays throughout the game that could could have affected the final outcome. It's unknowable. They're just looking for a single person to place all the blame on.
