Not that it matter, but we are going bowling.

I see both sides. Extra practice, playing experience and exposure. At the same time I think there are too many bowl games. It's handing out ribbons for mediocrity (and below). Regardless, I'll watch and enjoy every minute of it.

Please explain... How was your statement a joke that went over my head?

Edit: I get it... You are on the short bus thinking we shouldn't go bowling. Disappointed it took me so long to figure out you weren't serious and just trolling... But all the other threads you are posting in has clued me in.

I don't really care for the "they don't deserve it and should turn it down" side of things. You work with what you are given. If they can get another game and that much more practice in then they should embrace it. And it gives me a reason to even care about bowl season (for one game at least).

I do think that they need to trim the bowl games down some. 5-7 teams should NOT be playing in bowl games, but that shouldn't be because they are too proud to accept one.

Agree that there are too many bowl games. Agree that I love watching the Huskers play. Agree that they need the practice.
There is a competitive advantage to having more practices, especially with a new staff. I want my Huskers to be successful in the future, thus, I want them to go bowling! I wouldn't want pride to get in the way of my favorite team gaining an advantage. Not sure why people are against a bowl...

I haven't read a single post from anyone saying they won't watch. Have you?

Saying 5-7 teams shouldn't be playing in bowl games is a far cry from saying you won't watch your favorite team play if they are on TV.

chongo wont be happy about this

Saying they don't deserve it is not saying he wont be happy about going to it. IMHO there are too many bowl games. Don't blame the Huskers for being invited. Blame the NCAA. People who say they should not accept the invite are not thinking straight. Give me one good reason to not go (and they don't deserve it isn't a good reason). I guarantee none of us deserved Santa bring tons of gifts for us, but I guarantee every single one of us took them. Or were you the honest kid that said "no take the toys back mom, I was a douchebag this year"

It was a bit of luck NU will even be in line to be asked for a bowl game - so I say take it

But the criteria for 5 win teams is the APR for last year - NU had 991 the previous year it was 966. The 991 score puts us at the top of teams with 5 wins the 966 would have put us at the bottom - so I say take the bid and run

Riley and hopefully do not get a bonus for going as the selection had nothing to do with their efforts
