I would like to point out two things. Most importantly, CROOM, WHY ARE YOU COACHING THE FIRST STRING OFFENSE ON HOW TO RUN THE TRIPLE OPTION? THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE WASTING THEIR TIME ON THAT!!!!! And Elliott is the deuce?

• Croom said his defense worked one period per day on Georgia Tech's triple option for designated times during preseason camp. He's especially concerned that his scout team will give his defense an adequate look at the offense. He'll spend extra time coaching his first string offense on how to run the system so that it can give the first defense a good look at it, too. Croom said he and his staff talked to some coaches who have gone up against it before to learn how to defend it.

• More on Carroll: "There were some things that caused some of the (bad) throws, and that's what fans don't see," Croom said. "It's hard to complete a pass and you're trying to follow through and somebody's in your face. You'll get your hand broke. And it causes you to take steps that you normally wouldn't take. You can't take your normal steps and follow through. A block was missed, something like that, somebody's in your face, then we don't count that as the quarterback's fault. But I thought he reacted very well and he's handled the obvious criticism that goes with playing quarterback when you don't win. He's handled it well and i think he just lets that roll right off his back."

• On RB Robert Elliott: "Elliott will play a lot this week. He's going to play a lot more this week than he's been playing. We're going to find out. We're going to cut the deuce loose."
