Nothing earth shattering, but Schlabach just reported...

In addition to the stuff Kenny Rogers attorney said in the USA Today, Schlacbach says the attorney told him the NCAA made it very clear that Cecil said he did not know Rogers was asking MSU for money. So we have come full circle to the battle between Cecil and Rogers over what went down.

If Rogers stuck to his story about the meeting with coaches in the hotel room, then this should be pretty easy for the NCAA to verify. If Rogers was lying about that, then I'm thinking Auburn may walk...

of what was reported on the Atlanta TV station last Friday night saying they had a source close to the situation that said Cecil had admitted to seeking money from MSU for Cam's commitment. If we have multiple coaches saying that Cecil was there in the meeting when the money was asked for then Cecil's denials to the NCAA aren't worth much.

I saw that story ... it was their lead that night ... since then, no follow up story and no retraction either .... as far as I know, that was all that was said... in that one report ....nothing since then

Bond, Bell, 2 MSU recruiters (one being the guy now at Bama), and who knows who else. I can't imagine ALL of these people would make something up, but I can imagine that Newton would deny to protect his hide. So the way I see it, it is about 4-5 vs Newton.

You reported a while ago about the tapes, so I thought you may be hearing some more things....

Said that Cecil admitted talking under-the-table money with Kenny Rogers. http://www.wsbtv.com/sports/25778803/detail.html

The report did not say what those discussions were about. Cecil's story may be that Kenny brought up the subject of money, and they talked about it, but that the talks never went so far as Cecil wanting Kenny to seek money for him.

Kenny and Cecil have a brief conversation about how much money Cam may be worth. The conversation never goes beyond that, and Cecil does not expect Kenny to actually approach MSU about money.

Then Kenny takes it upon himself to call Bell, and Bell calls Bond. Remember, Bond said he was told that Cam had already been offered as much as $200,000 from other schools and that MSU could get him for just $180,000. Apparently that was just salesmanship from Rogers, who claims he never talked to any other school. So Bond calls Greg Byrne, and that is MSU being approached with an offer. So you can scratch Bell, Bond, and Byrne off the list of people who corroborate Kenny.

Then you have the two coaches in the Hotel room. As I said in my first post, if that actually happened, then Cecil is nailed. If Kenny was lying about that, then that's no help.

Finally you have the phone calls, IF the phone calls are real. Rogers wasn't a party to the phone calls, but it would be corroborating evidence that Cecil was seeking money. We'll see - if the phone calls were real then this gets more interesting.

said Cecil admitted to asking for money. They don't have anything directly from Cecil himself.

The source said that Cecil admitted "talking about" under-the-table money with Kenny Rogers. That could mean a lot of different things.

and he was secretly upping the anti on MSU behind Cecil's back... Thus driving the price from $100k-$180k by the time Pimp Cecil said thats my final offer. Or Cam really hates Cecil and Billy was going to split it between himself and Cam, leaving Cecil with hammer in hand fixing his own damn church. Thus, Cecil pissed saying he never contacted Bell about money, but then later admits that he himself asked MSU for money. Seems like a big ole cluster17 if you asked me.
