The NSAA Board of Directors met on November 5, 2025 at the NSAA Office in Lincoln with the following members present:

District I - Kara Graham, Lincoln Southeast​
District I - Dade McDonald, McCool Junction​
District II - Dr. Nick Wemhoff, Fort Calhoun​
District II - Thomas Lee, Omaha Westview​
District III - Brad Hoesing, Wausa​
District IV - Darren Tobey, Broken Bow​
District V - Robert Drews, Arapahoe​
District VI - Dr. Troy Unzicker, Alliance​
Also in attendance: Dr. Zainab Rida, Nebraska Department of Education Liaison; Tom Kerkman, Omaha Westside Activities Director; Andrew Sherman, Lincoln Southwest Activities Director; Lucas Post, HBE; Krystal Siebrandt, HBE.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

1. Moved to approve the Consent Agenda. Items on the Consent Agenda included:

  • Approval of the Agenda as presented
  • Approval of the Minutes of the October 16, 2025 Board of Directors meeting
  • Approval of the Minutes of the October 29, 2025 Boundary Committee meeting
  • Approval of the Financial Statements

  • Approval of the following cooperative sponsorships for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years:
    • Central City and Centura for Baseball
  • Approval of the following cooperative sponsorships for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years
    • Rock County and Keya Paha for Football, Volleyball, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Boys Wrestling, Girls Wrestling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Track, Girls Track and Boys Golf​

Motion Carried: 8-0

2. Moved to approve a request by Omaha Westside High School to adjust the December Moratorium Dates for Girls Wrestling to accommodate travel to December 23-27. Motion Carried: 8-0

3. Moved to approve Video Review at the NSAA Boys and Girls Wrestling Finals as an NFHS Experiment. Motion Carried: 8-0

4. Krystal Siebrandt and Lucas Post from HBE presented the Audit Report.

5. NSAA Staff Reports included the following informational items:
  • The NSAA Boys Tennis Championships were a success. Hosting at Woods Tennis Center allowed the Championship to continue as weather forced Class A inside for a while.
  • The NSAA Cross Country Championships were a success with record attendance this year.
6. It was moved to enter into Executive Session to discuss staffing at 8:43 a.m. Motion Carried: 8-0

7. The Board moved to exit Executive Session and return to regular session at 8:53 a.m. Motion Carried: 8-0

8. Moved to approve a waiver of Approved Ruling 3.11.1-3.11.12 for Lincoln Southwest High School's diving coach. Motion Carried: 8-0

9. Moved to authorize the Executive Director to make the proposed hires for the two assistant director positions. Motion Carried: 8-0

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 a.m.

The next meeting of the NSAA Board of Directors will be December 11, 2025 at the Divots Conference Center in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Does anyone know the total number of sports coops that are in existence? Just curious to know what that number would be.
