NU Highlights

Hey guys, er, y'all:

Not sure if there's any interest, but here's a link to our season highlights.

• They're HIGHLIGHTS. You'll see no low-lights or bungles. They exist, but not in these videos.
• There's a password for each video, but it's shown directly below the video box.
• The guy who expertly compiles these syncs them up with audio from the radio broadcast (Dave Eanet from WGN Radio - NU grad and much better than being tortured by ESPN or BTN commentators)
• To get a taste of our read option offense (and to see both QBs in action) refer to the Indiana highlights.
• If MSU is going with white alternative uniforms, and we counter with alternatives of our own, you may want to refer to the Illinois highlights for what we may be wearing 1/1.

That was pretty exciting, though I had seen it before. But seeing all those 14 yard gains got me all fired up for the Gator Bowl.

In fact, I haven't been this excited since Pat Benetar single-handedly defeated 38 Nazi stooges in her hit music video "Shadows of the Night." That was awesome to behold.

Maybe you do need to be told that "they're (sic) HIGHLIGHTS" and can't figure that out on your own. Maybe you've never seen a highlight video before. We only play in the SEC, you know? Thanks, I just sent this straight to Dan. I wish you nice guys all the luck in the world, but you do realize we are an SEC team who got beat by 3 top ten teams (2 of the 3 way games) and our in state rival ( also away game). Big Ten teams are usually not capable of physically hanging with SEC teams. I know it's possible we lose but not likely. You guys have been real nice on our board and we appreciate that, but I just don't want you guys to get your hopes up. Just ask Michigan how they felt going into the game and how they felt when it was 15 minutes in. I bet they would tell you that they felt like they were boys against men.

Either way, your hospitality is appreciated and we hope that none of your players get injured. Before Nebraska came into your league NU was my favorite.

I probably should have indicated NU-ONLY HIGHLIGHTS or similar[vs. generic two-team highlights].

Also, contrary to Hungry Jack's inference, I'm not associated with the guy who puts these together. Ergo, I have nothing to do with the passwords. I was simply pointing out where they were so viewers wouldn't see that a password was required and click away.

However, Hungry Jack is correct in that I'm not generally a douche bag on our board.

We didn't just get beat by 3 top 10 teams and our very mediocre rival, we got our asses handed to us in all of those games. And we really never had an impressive game at all the whole season. We struggled in pretty much every game. There's nothing special at all about the bottom 8 teams in the SEC, and we're part of that group.

Look I'm not shaking in my boots like Bogey was prior to the Auburn game but let me say this. You do realize that this is football and in a situation where they are constantly reminded of how we should dominate them is a motivating fact (see Wake Forrest last yr). This team more equipped tobeat us than WF was last yr and for most of the MCB it was a ball game. NU has the ability to put pressure on our defense that would create success. Especially when everybody is saying "well they're from the SEC and they can just push you around." Remember Tebow's UF in the Capital One Bowl getting pushed around by Michigan? Remember the 09' Outback Bowl Auburn Vs Northwestern? What about the 2010 Sugar Bowl Ohio State Vs Arky? The things all those games have in common....those Big 10 teams were told for weeks how they'd get push around by the big bad SEC. 2 of those three games were lost by the SEC and it took OT for Auburn to beat.....yep Northwestern.

I just noticed that. I was like "damn, that's actually correct". Doesn't matter. I felt dude was being a smartass. He said he wasn't. Y'all felt like I was being a smartass. I don't really care. Slow ur role there pat. We played LSU better than you are stating. We were about to seize momentumright before Tyler threw that pick. I don't mind giving NU credit but I gotta give ourselves some as well. We were in Baton Rouge and were on the preface of something pretty remarkable for MSU.

Without the interception we most likely would have scored ... had been moving the ball well. So 30-24. Get an onside kick, score, and we win. That may not be very likely, but we were still in the game up until the interception.

Maybe he was but I didn't think so. Just because most of us talk funny doesn't mean we're dumb. ** I had to wonder why game highlights passworded but assumed it was a private account used occasionally for things that are personal (like videos of the kids, for example).

It seems to me the OP was being self-deprecating - he was trying to avoid the perception he was making a claim that NU was as good as the video made out. If he had not made the qualification, there would have been fifteen replies pointing out that the video was only highlights, it left out all the mistakes, and he's stupid for thinking his team is that good.

I will admit it was a fairly competitive game. But they did outscore us 37-10 in the last 46 minutes of the game. I'd say that, Arkansas and Tennessee were the only games we played decently in all year. And we didn't really play all that great in any of those.
