The thing is.
- Oregon now isn't even the Oregon they were when NU played them.

-Nebraska is a couple cleaned up areas from blowing 4 of the first 5 games out early, it's a game of inches. The Oregon game could have snowballed in the 3rd if not for a mistake on a Penalty also.

-Seems teams usually take a large rise in ranking over the course of a year 2 ways, one is to rest on it and feel they're entitled to win, one is to use it as motivation to get stronger, build swagger. I really feel this teams tougher games have made it hard to just expect to win, so hopefully they'll feed off of it and improve.

I'm excited, indiana will be a tough test on the road, hopefully we see Nebraska keep improving.

Surprising, the coaches have Baylor at 8th, while Nebraska is ahead of Wisconsin and Tennessee. Maybe not that surprising in that coaches respect wins over losses, even if the loss comes to a superior team.

It's ok. We're 5-0. There there. *cradles chicolby's head*

A loss should be a penalty regardless. I think Tennessee is a pretty damn good looking team this season but they lost on Saturday so they don't quite deserve the Alabama treatment after dropping one.

I think Indiana will be surprised how good our offense is after playing MSU and Ohio St..we have veterans playing and we spread the ball around.....from what I saw TAs legs will be big in this game....I hope Tanner is able to play.

I dont feelit has been earned yet. I understand that yes it is great for us fans and all. How many Husker fans were bashing Iowa last year for playing nobody and being over rated? But when we do it, it is ok? I think Nebraska is slighy over rated. To me, polls should go by who you think they would lose to. Do you think Nebraska could beat Miami, Tennessee or Florida State right now? I sure dont. But hopefully come bowl season we will find out.

Overall I am super excited for Nebraska to be in top 10 again I just hope they sustain it.

I don't play for NU. However, I would love for NU to play any of those teams. Healthy, we can hang with any of them. No, we're not Top 5. We don't have the depth and have injury issues. That doesn't mean that our healthy starters cannot compete with most programs in the nation. Yeah, we went 5-7 (6-7) last year, but we were competitive in most every game. That's what I want to be. Competitive in every game. Well, that and win most of our games (if not all).

That's the thing about winning. You move up in the charts. If we lose then we will move back down. Claiming we aren't worthy because of Oregon is stupid. Oregon was a good win. They are talented regardless of their own issues.

I realize that we will probably not win it all. That's no reason to be pessimistic about the season. Win 9-11 games and go to a decent bowl game will lead to a better recruiting class and more excitement about the program. Things will get better as we build depth and improve talent level. No reason to discount the importance of this season.

However the difference there is Iowa purposely not scheduling tough opponents in the noncon. We at least attempted to schedule a good Oregon team we just didn't know they would be down this year.

They don't have the option of scheduling ISU every year as that is something the state wants. The other teams are not that different from what Nebraska or 80% of teams schedule. I give Nebraska credit as they schedule 1 traditional power team for each season, Iowa not so much (unless you consider Pitt a traditional power). I don't recall any team better than Pitt on the Iowa schedule. Even though we attempted to schedule a tough opponent, doesn't make our SOS very good this year.

Wyoming is looking to be pretty good. They are 4-2 on the year, and just beat Air Force. That is a very big win this year.

Navy just beat Houston who everyone thought was a playoff team, and Air Force beat Navy... So in my opinion people need to look past the name of the teams before jumping to a conclusion.

Not saying Wyoming is a world beater guys, just saying that win has some relevance in our SOS
