Numbers say Alabama not such a big deal

IF WVU can get by first round opponent Maryland, then 1 seed Alabama might not be as formidable as some people think. Alabama lost to by far the WORST team in the Big 12, Oklahoma, by TWENTY FOUR points! So why can't WVU, which, once it got into gear after an 0-5 Big 12 start, beat Oklahoma by THIRTY TWO points? That's a FIFTY SIX point difference in comparative scores in favor of WVU. Mountaineers only need to win by one.

Big 12 competition was GREAT prep for March Madness. As Kansas, Baylor, Texas, TCU, Kansas State, Iowa State and West Virginia will show. But the numbers and NET say that a W-L record for a Big 12 team is much more impressive than the same W-L record for teams in the lesser Power Five conferences. The numbers say SIX of the SEVEN Big 12 teams could be in the Elite Eight.

Alabama, which is 29-5, has beaten Houston, the odds-on favorite to win the Title, and lost to one unranked team (Oklahoma) all season. Disrespect the Tide at your own peril.

Sometimes the shots fall. OU is not better than Bama by any stretch, a once in a lifetime result for those Sooner players.

Is this the right board for that?
I have no idea why the worthless poster is allowed to ruin the forum. Makes no sense to me. It would be one thing if the worthless poster contributed to the board with decent sports takes, but all it does is chime in with its moronic takes. Dick head needs to go.

Can't disagree with your conclusion. But it does show Alabama's vulnerability to Big 12 physicality. And WVU may be the most physical team in the Big 12. That gives me hope IF we beat Maryland. First things first in March Madness or you go home.

Darius Miles asked Brandon Miller to bring gun used to kill Jamea Jonae Harris, police testify.

Miles contacted Miller and asked him to bring his gun to where they were, according to police. The gun belonged to Miles.

When Miller got to the scene, Miles told Davis, “The heat is in the hat.” Det. Branden Culpepper said that meant a gun was present.

Miles added, “There’s one in the head.” That, Culpepper said, meant a round was in the chamber.

Miles moved his girlfriend back to get her out of line of fire, Culpepper added.

Asked by AL.com why Miller was not charged, Tuscaloosa chief deputy D.A. Paula Whitley said, “That’s not a question I can answer. There’s nothing we could charge him with,’' according to the law, she said.

Alabama coach Nate Oats said Tuesday that Miller is “not in any trouble” as a result of his alleged involvement.

“We knew about that. Can’t control everything everybody does outside of practice. Nobody knew that was going to happen. College kids are out, Brandon hasn’t been in any type of trouble nor is he in any type of trouble in this case. Wrong spot at the wrong time,” Oats said.

The whole thing boils down to if you believe Miller knew the gun was there, IMO he did as Miles didn’t feel the need to text him and tell him that he hid a gun in his backseat when he texted him requesting delivery of the gun. Additionally if he knew he was rolling up to a heated altercation to deliver a gun to Miles, IMO he probably did, but it didn’t pass the criminal burden of proof so that is why he was not charged.

Which is why they will attempt to use Miller as a witness to put his friend in jail.

Good move by defense attorney.

Defense attorneys claimed that Miles and Davis could have been in fear.

They said they had seen a gun in the victims’ vehicle and noted that when they could have left the area before the shooting, they instead came back, turned off their vehicle lights and stopped.

Seems they have it on dash cam...

Culpepper said some of what happened was captured on dash cam from Miller’s vehicle.

After learning that, he said, Miles admitted to contacting Miller to bring him his gun and said Davis had gotten the gun from Miller’s vehicle.
