Ole Miss Head Football Coach got down on his knees, and with a tear flowing down his cheek belying a wry crocodile smile, apologized to the SEC for signing 38 players and embarrassing the SEC. Knowing this year, after the Cotton Bowl win over Texas Tech, that it was his window of opportunity to stock up on ineligible players, the Nuttster went overboard.

Here is the linky link for all the Reb Defenders of the Nuttmeister.

Seriously. I don't remember the year, but wasn't that the beginning of the end for Sherrill?

and because of the number of players, it was one reason we had such a top 15 recruiting class.

... and I don't remember a 34 member signing class? There may have been, but I don't remember one. Here is the link to the 2003 signing class, and yes, there were a number of infamous non-qualifiers;

However, we never signed 38. Nor were we ever singled out by the SEC Commissioner for embarrassing the SEC.

That's not a whole lot different than 37, especially considering that we're planning on 3-4 grayshirts, and Croom wasn't planning on any for that class.
