The funniest, actually makes me angry, are the states that the Dems run are wanting the feds to bail them out of all their mistakes from mismanagemening their states and cities for years.

Btw, did you happen to catch the article written today by Illinois Senator Jason Plummer? On Fox. It's a great read if you haven't caught it yet. In it he's asking the feds to NOT give his state any $$$ that has to be funded by other states, all because the Dems in his state have bankrupted it.
I will put my money on guys like this to listen to. I just wish the politicians would do the same.

I'm not going to put Andy down for having it setup or even for leaving it in place for a little while. I feel like a situation like this, you are better to have it and not need it as opposed to needing it and not having it.
I thought (personally) it was cool that the facility where my beloved Cats practice was slated as a hospital of sorts.
I know this isn't relevant but I hated Nutter Fieldhouse. We had to play Louisville Male there. It was like an inch of carpet on top of concrete. I don't see how teams in the NFL played on that kind of astroturf.
The turf everyone uses now is like playing on a pillow. The ground is crazy soft. It makes you feel as though you're not only much faster, but can also jump higher. I know they use that at Nutter now.

KY was not even close to ever needing a 2 BR apartment converted, much less anything like the Nutter Center.
I agree my BBN friend, but it's obvious that it is now not needed and is just burning money. My fellow Officers are loving the easy overtime, but as a taxpayer I think it's time to say we now need to shutter the doors and convert it back to a football practice facility. JMO.

It took essentially 2 weeks to get it up and running. I guess as someone who has been in charge of making sure we are good stewards for a companies money I would have asked myself, why not let hospitals get to a certain % capacity before I go off and spool up 6.7m dollar waiting room.

The problem is we think Beshear has the same goals as the average Kentuckian.
We simply want to get past this, he wants to use it to get a Federal bailout, and probably postpone the primary. Putting up a completely unnecessary hospital was good for optics at the time, and put more pressure on McConnell in an election year due to KY being debt ridden.
This. A lot of workers at UK DID lose their jobs. Meanwhile UK pisses away 160 mil on this chicanery as well as running completely pointless "we're all in this together" TV ads, Lord knows what those cost them.
This isnt Monday morning QBing either. Just look through this thread alone. Plenty of us pointed out they had enough capacity at the hospital itself and this was an enormous waste of time and money.
We arent New York. We arent California (thank God.) We arent going to be. The overwhelming majority of people either will not contract it at all, will contract it and be asymptomatic, or will contract it and have a cold for a while. A minority will get extreme symtpoms from it, and for an even smaller minority it is fatal. Most of the time due to advanced age or prexisting conditions.
Its time to get back normal living.
It’s buried in one of the articles listed above but I think it should be highlighted that the contract to build the unused $7 million Nutter field hospital went to EDS which was founded by Jerry Lundergan and is still run by his family members.
King Andy said they chose EDS (who wasn’t the low bidder BTW...not by a long shot) because they were the only contractor who wasn’t going to use subcontractors...which King Andy said that meant they could get the Nutter facility built faster...which isn’t necessarily true...even if it was true there was no indication...no data that supported that Lexington needed it built quicker than what other contractors who bid lower could have performed.
Someone should investigate how much campaign money was donated to King Andy from EDS employees/Lundergan family members.

Today Andy said he had nothing to do with Nutter Hospital, that's all Uk.
He sure seemed to take a lot of credit for it when he unveiled the grand opening during one of his story hours.

Specifically, state law allows for emergency purchase procedures (under KRS 45A-095) to ensure timely completion of this project. Newman said only one firm, ultimately, could dependably provide the range of those needs in the timeframe required. Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) is a Lexington-based logistic and emergency support services company, which offered the best range of services that could be put in place in such a quick timeframe. EDS, for example, has helped construct and stand up several field hospitals in other states already.
That ^^^^^ sounds like they didn’t even issue an RFQ...like it was a no-compete award...which would be infinitely worse.
Bids weren't but the contract was I believe. I am almost 100% sure that EDS also set up the 2000 beds at the Ky fair and expo center too.
