And I'm sorry, I'm not going to buy the "We would be 1-11 without him line of thinking" knowing damn well that before Masoli even got to Oxford that no Rebel predicted their team to go 1-11.
He essentially helped them beat UK and maybe Fresno.

You also saw how ****** the wide receivers were. This team scored points this year because Masoli at QB made it possible. Nathan Stanley would have absolutely been murdered this year by the pass rush and Masoli took his share of punishment as mobile as he is. This team is 4-8 because of the defense not the offense. I'd take Masoli again without hesitation.
He only had ONE year of eligibility. So you are taking a HUGE gamble signing him for one year hoping that he will leead you to some wins.

Second, why would you sign him with the hopes of pushing your shittyseason back a single year? Nutt knew his team was going to suck without Masoli. So he thought "Maybe Masoli can Hep me if I make it look like I am heppin him." Wrong, now you went 4-8 and Nutt has a completely inexperienced QB coming in next year. Which means...they will suck again next year, possibly more than this year.
I am not sure of the logic in signing Masoli. If Masoli wanted to come to State instead of Ole Miss, and Mullen took him...I wouldnt be happy about it at all. Not to mention Masoli has zero character and was a thug (just like Newton)

One QB hadleft, and they had two unproven Qb's in house, and that is all.
Masoli had played in the GD Rose Bowl, and was available.
It was interesting watching them lower themselves to get him!
Thing is they have problems ahead for next year... as far as QB goes.
