And the crowd was in it from the get go, unlike last year. It was like the crowds of old.Last night felt…different…fun again. A little like those years in the old Stadium. Last year was a fun run the the Series for sure. But last night still felt different. Maybe it was the Red Sox being the victim. Maybe it was seeing managerial decisions actually work out. My guess is that it was seeing youth on the mound and a farm product that might inject youth into a pretty old rotation. Whatever it was, it was a blast.
They mentioned it briefly during the telecast....but I've already been salivating at the thought of a rotation next year of Cole Fried Schlittler Rodon Gil/Warren. And that doesn't even include Schmidt coming back to health at some point next year. Injuries happen, we all know that...but boy....that's a rotation.Last night felt…different…fun again. And kudos to Boonie for ignoring all of the analytics, trusting what anyone watching could see, and running Cam back out there in the 7th and 8th innings.Last night felt…different…fun again. LOL, yes!And kudos to Boonie for ignoring all of the analytics, trusting what anyone watching could see, and running Cam back out there in the 7th and 8th innings.
When he said to Blake that Cam was staying in right after the 7th, Blake's facial expression.....STUNNED, LOL
I swear I was going to bring that up this morning but I didn't want to jinx them and decided to wait until after the season, but you beat me to it. lol I've got a lot stored up in my mind that I can't wait to discuss. But as you said, that's for later. They mentioned it briefly during the telecast....but I've already been salivating at the thought of a rotation next year of Cole Fried Schlittler Rodon Gil/Warren. But let's focus on this month. C'mon boys....keep the train rolling!
I've been saving it too but damn Coney went ahead and brought it up last night so I figured it was fair game, HAI swear I was going to bring that up this morning but I didn't want to jinx them and decided to wait until after the season, but you beat me to it. lol I've got a lot stored up in my mind that I can't wait to discuss. I guess my silver lining is that, even though Boone should have known by the way Weaver closed the regular season and by his ERA of infinity in the ALWC series against Boston, he now has to know that Weaver again in the ALDS…or the ALCS if we find our way there…or the World Series…is not an option. Weaver is done for 2025. Might as well leave him off the roster going forward. The game went to crap as soon as Weaver came in.
He had 2 hits.Impressive game today. AJ continues to shrink in big post season moments
I wouldn’t call Weissert “talent”Bullpen woes are Yanks' own fault. 40-year old Dave Robertson, Weissert, Whitlock, Clay Holmes (who pitched well in last year's postseason as a setup man) all gone. Again, Cash Man's inability to assess talent.
Did you watch him strike out with the bases loaded and no outs in a 2-0 ball game? He’s paid umpteen millions to produce in those type of situations. He had 2 hits.
There is a lot to complain about on this team but Judge is not one of them.Did you watch him strike out with the bases loaded and no outs in a 2-0 ball game? He’s paid umpteen millions to produce in those type of situations.
When that happened I knew it was not going to be our day again. Toronto has killed our pitching but they have also had quite a few weird hits and lucky bounces. Time for that tide to run.I haven’t seen a Baltimore chop as high as the one Guerrero hit in the first since the 80s when teams like the Vincent Van Go Cardinals played on concrete
I thought the very same thing. Damn ball bounced 30 feet into the air and over the pitcher. Just ridiculous. When that happened I knew it was not going to be our day again. Toronto has killed our pitching but they have also had quite a few weird hits and lucky bounces. Time for that tide to run.
I've seen popups that didn't go that high.I thought the very same thing. Damn ball bounced 30 feet into the air and over the pitcher. Just ridiculous.
He does not have a great track record as a postseason pitcherFried let us down big time, in a must-win game.
Compare that to what Andy Pettite used to repeatedly do--win game 2s of playoff series when the Yanks had lost Game One.
