If it's a road game and it's tied in the 7th inning or later, I just assume the Yanks will lose.

**** this Yankees bullpen. Hendrick walks in a run then gives up a grand slam. 3 inherited runners score and 2 more of his own. I thought it pissed me off until I saw Will Warren's reaction. Will had a 3 run lead. Boone is such a poor handler of pitchers. Every time a starter gets in a little trouble in the 5th inning here comes Boone to yank him and the reliever Boone calls on invariably gives up the lead. Over and over and over. It's Ground Hog Day. Our pen is only effective when no one is on base when they enter.
A loss today really makes next week’s four-game series with the Rays immaterial. If we are being honest, the season kind of ended when judge went down again. It’s hard not to call him injury-prone at this point. And I hear you about the Yankees ‘ conditioning staff, but he’s a grown man whose job it is to play professional baseball. If he wasn’t prepared, a lot of the blame has to go on him.
The Yankees baby their players because of the salaries and these guys with the big salaries have no fear of losing their jobs. I grew up in a different era than these pussies of today. We played hurt like hell and never thought about it. It was our job. Stanton has sat out all year with calf strains? Give me a break. Judge's rib injury was in a really bad spot, but muscle tightness in the calf? Really? No sympathy from me. I can't tell you how many Yankees players I've heard since the George Steinbrenner era saying they could play but were put on the IL or if it was the playoffs they could play. And I've said it so many times. These guys are too muscular. They don't need bulk muscle they need lean muscle. They aren't boxers or football players.
And yes, it's time to get ready for Boston in the wild card. All that Boone resting of players all year didn't help one bit. NOW IS WHEN YOU CAN START RESTING PLAYERS ON A ROTATING BASIS BECAUSE YOU FAILED AGAIN TO WIN THE DIVISION WITH YOUR DUMBASS MANAGING.

We were never going to catch the Rays anyway so securing the wildcard series at home was what we needed to do and have done. Now just get everything lined up to win that series and then get a shot at the Rays.
Hedrick's fastball was down 2 mph from his July average. In a game where a perfect swing is based on thousandths of a second, that 2 mph matters.

You still don’t want a division opponent to pop champagne in your stadium. I’m very interested to see the fight we show today. Mammoth task trying to take two in one day from the Rays with both of their aces on the mound. Rodon and Fried will have to dominate. If we did sweep today, then there’s at least a little more game pressure on the Rays tomorrow and Wednesday…maybe. Just find some way to make them take their goggles with them to Philly and see what happens.
Turn your TV off. Don't watch. lol They are going to pop the cork and we suck at home for some reason regardless of the opponent. Having a better road record makes no sense and I am pissed at how the Rays have owned us this year. We are 36-34 against them over the past 5 years.
I know you are probably right…but I still believe for some reason. The Rays aren’t great away from home and I just feel like our starters are all ready to deal the next three days. I know…very, probably setting myself up to be disappointed.

The best we can do is close to within two when TB leaves town, right? But a four-game sweep would give us the H2H tiebreaker. So we’d need to sweep the Os in the Bronx as well and hope that Donnie can beat the Rays two of three. Very slim likelihood…but I’m here for it.

What a performance by Rodon. That type of start feels like the only way we had a chance to win both games in the DH. The offense was meh again…but Belly did enough to get us a lead.
The news on Judge sucks. It just feels like the offense is going to really struggle against the elite pitching it will face in the postseason. Our pitching is so good…but the OPS of three of the guys in the order is anemic.

96 pitches. Average of 12/inning. That is DOMINANT stuff. ERA down to 2.67 on the year.
Guys can bad-mouth ERA all they want but anyone with an ERA under 3 is flat dealing in this day and age.

Used a lot of offspeed pitches. His change up was awesome.
Bellinger saved the game offensively and defensively. Now has 19 defensive runs saved which is 4th in the majors and he has missed a month of the season ir he'd probably be leading in that stat.
Suck a problem. Can’t wait until Rasmussen and Caminero hit the free agent market and TB can’t afford to pay them.
