in the book it was a different bastard son of robert. but for viewers, it was easier to just use gendry since (1) he was already on budget, (2) it doesn't introduce another minor character to figure out and keep track of, and (3) gendry's staory was pretty much dunzo until he briefly reappears at the end of a feast for crows, so they can still write him back to that point in the book pretty easily when the time comes.
I'm pretty sure Margaery disrobed in one of the scenes with Renly Baratheon before he bit the dust. Back in season 2.

Daenaerys is the best part of the show, but damn, there has been no battles, and nothing has happened so far. And everyone said this season would be awesome, personally I''m pretty disappointed.
And please, get rid of that damn Greylove or whatever his name is that keeps being tortured. I don't care about him, and I'd even be fine with Rob Stark getting offed.

Agreed... this season has been like one of those jokes that since takes so long to set up, the audience is bored by the time you hit the punchline. There are about a dozen storylines going on right now that could all lead up to one hell of an explosion, but they're all dragging out way too long.
And yeah, the Greylove dude can go along with John Snow's girlfriend. I can't remember what it is exactly that she says, but there is some combination of letters that sounds like a moose trying to talk whenever she says it

The author is the only person doing writing for the TV series, which is why it's stayed so true to the books. It's also a big reason why the show is one of the highest rated TV shows of all time on imdb.
I do worry about them getting too broad in storylines since the book is able to do that and go into great detail.

Not correct. It's being written for TV by the show creators and Exec. Producers, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Martin writes one or two episodes per season.
The scene where her douche brother received his payment in gold--molten and poured over his head-- was a classic.
