Hahaha Obama is mostly hated these days. His charisma is undeniable but he can’t pass it along to others like Trump can. He is basically a poorer and lesser version of Donald tbh. He was a terrible president btw
You're letting your misplaced jealousy do the talking. Trump has never even reached 50% approval in any poll and it's guaranteed that he will go down as the most hated president in history and it ain't close.

A CNN poll conducted by SSRS in May 2026 showed that former President Barack Obama held a 57% favorable rating among Americans surveyed, compared with 34% for President Donald Trump

Americans view Obama far more positively than Trump or Biden

Nobody cares about your fake polls. Everyone knows Obama was a terrible president. Not Biden bad, but close. Around the same level as bush jr and jimmy Carter. Not good. At all. He owes me some healthcare $ btw

If Democrats think Barack Obama going out there campaigning and talking **** about Trump is their secret weapon, they may have seriously miscalculated.

They seem to have forgotten that Trump's rise to power was, in large part, a reaction to Obama's presidency. Millions of Americans wanted change, and Obama going out there talking smack just reminded us exactly why.

I wasn't even planning on voting early, but after listening to him today, I'm so fired up that tomorrow morning I'll be heading straight to the polls.

And if millions of my fellow Republicans feel the same way I do, including those who were on the fence about voting in the midterms, Obama rearing his ugly head today has given them the reason to make up their minds.

Democrats ****** around. Now they're about to find out.

Barry please go out and campaign.
Campaign for what?

Stop drilling permits on public land?
Stop pipelines?
Double down on methane tax on natural gas?
Reopen the border?
Mandate DEI and CRT programs in public schools?
Reverse no tax on tips, OT, and SS?
Eliminate part time work requirements for able bodied people w/o dependents?
Reintroduce covid enhanced subsidies?

Obviously tax the rich but how/how much and would the money be used to reduce the deficit?

What’s he doing. Apologizing for ACA? Yes we can….completely ruin healthcare.
we all know trump has his own way with facts, and we're not bashful about pointing that out. But I wonder why, in this era of rising healthcare costs, and inclusion of healthcare as a major campaign issue, that the question of the ACA promises and reality are brought up more often.

There are some good answers to questions about ACA promises made and not kept, but I think it would be interesting to hear his views on why so many of the promises weren't kept and the benefits of those that were.

His entire campaign was healthcare for all. They got ACA and it’s trash. Now they’re saying they need more money. It never ends. I’m sure it’s someone else’s fault - most likely Trump and Epstein.

if you read the recent article in the WSJ, you might come to a conclusion that, while not part of the evil empire, they have been taking advantage of the US with trade policies...some of which date back to the Obama administration. But it's political crazy season and our leaders, and potential leaders tend to highlight their good and overlook their bad...and yes republicans and Democrats do the same thing...one is no better than the other.

I wonder how long it will take after the Democrat takeover of Congress to see a backtrack on the promises to reduce costs and blame their inability on Trump. Of course, all of us on this board are smart enough to know that a democrat Congress can't reduce those prices any more than trump could, in spite of his promises, during the 2024 campaign

I wonder why you (anyone, not you specifically) would use a poll from may 2026 to measure Obama.

Not to mention that Canada was only spending 1.3% of GDP on defense until Trump took office. So yes, I'm convinced that they've been taking advantage of us much like most of western Europe.

That said I think it's crucial that the USA has a friendly relationship with Canada. I appreciate Trump holding their feet to the fire to set things right but his antics like calling them our 51st state and changing Lake Ontario to Lake America do nothing but agitate people and make negotiations more difficult.

Instead of constantly complaining about what it didn't do, maybe you should express appreciation for what it accomplished as there are 54 million non-elderly adults with pre-existing conditions severe enough to make them uninsurable pre-ACA. And then ask why if it's so terrible, why hasn't Trump done anything in his six years in office to make healthcare more affordable. Will we get something in two weeks?

The Perspective: Obama has described the ACA not as a finished, end-all solution, but as a "starter house"—a foundational step that established healthcare protections (such as covering pre-existing conditions, allowing young adults to stay on parents' plans, and ending lifetime limits) upon which future lawmakers and administrations needed to build. [1, 2, 3]

Defense of Results: In anniversary reflections (including marking 15 years of the law), Obama has emphasized that the law succeeded in cutting the uninsured rate nearly in half and provided coverage to tens of millions of people, pushing back against characterizations that the law was a total failure. [1, 2, 3]

I play golf with a lot of Canadians as they migrate to Florida for the winter...they, normally kind, quiet people, were really not happy with the 51st state comments

ha ha, I read the same site as you. I mentioned that there were some sound reasons for the "failure" of the ACA portions.

I have posted numerous times about the good p[arts of ACA, coverage of pre existing conditions, kids covered to 26 another...I don't complain constantly about the ACA....But, it just seems to me that calling out the bad along with the good should be fair game. One of the goals of ACA was to provide affordable coverage for 41 million uninsured americans....a great goal...and one, IMO, that was achieved...which is why every time you post about all the people who don't have healthcare, I respond that the ACA provides the means for everyone to get healthcare...The ACA achieves what it set out to do.

On the other hand we have to be realistic about what was promised and has not been achieved...and I'm not one of the ones that says "end it"..I say fix it....it didn't accomplish all that was promised...even you have to agree with that last statement

Oh, and I didn't say Obama lied....he might have overstated the prospective benefits, but he had a vision and set out to accomplish it. There are multiple reasons why it hasn't worked as promised..some as a result of the overstatements, some by changes made after the fact and definitely by elimination of the individual mandate (the requirement which some might attribute to authoriatarism)
