Respectfully disagree. I lost 3 hours of my life and 69% of my hearing I'll never get back yesterday. I don't know why I gave in to my wife's idea to waste a Friday afternoon. I measure Braveheart as a 10, I'd give this a 3. AI video game type movies are not my thing...
I saw it's streaming online, so I may check it out this weekend if I'm bored. Some seem to love it and others hate it, so I'll avoid going to a theater and spending money on it.
Should have gone to Film Scene to watch it. They don’t blast you out of the theater and you could have enjoyed an evening with like minded JoCo hippies.

Yeah the volume was crazy in it. At one point my watch warned me the decibels were too high for too long. For movies of its ilk, I put Gladiator #1. To me, this is a rung below and a co-equal of Braveheart or better, looking at the total package.
Rotten tomatoes is owned by the same parent company as the group that produced and distributed the odyssey. Bit of a conflict of interest and there are currently hundreds of people posting that rotten tomatoes is screening all reviews being made for the movie and are not allowing any negative feedback even for verified movie goers.
I haven't seen it to weigh in yet. The costume design is terrible as is much of the casting but that doesn't mean it will be a bad movie. Rotten tomatoes is a joke though.

I know you and the rest of you Trumptards are mad the movie has a black woman playing Helen of Troy, but your Rotten Tomatoes conspiracy is hilarious-they simply calculate the ratio of good vs bad reviews, silly. This one has 1 bad review for every 19 good ones and this a 95% not an arbitrary rating by the studio who made it.

I tend to think neither rating site is fudging the data, but who knows?
The one thing I like about RT is the division of reviews between critics and us ordinary folk. Especially interesting when there's a big discrepancy.
I'll bet the RT viewer ratings drop with time. It's often the most excited people who rate things first.
To me, the most interesting data in your post are the numbers of reviewers between the 2 movies. LotR has 100x the viewer ratings but actually slightly fewer critic ratings. How does that happen?
Has the number of "critics" exploded in recent years? Is "critic" now nothing more than a social media influencer?
It is my belief that you don’t get a 50-point gap between platforms unless someone’s curating the numbers. The fact that rotten tomatoes ownership has a financial interest in the success of this movie that makes me question their motives first.
As I said, I've not yet seen the movie to weigh in myself.

Usually when I see a discrepancy like that it seems like the show is an "inside Hollywood" kind of show. Critics appreciate the technical side - look at those great shot angles, what wonderful costumes, what good use of bit players, etc. - things that appeal to their expertise. Regular viewers appreciate the story telling more.
When I see a discrepancy like that my mind goes to review bombing by people who have never watched the movie. "A black Helen of Troy I cannot abide so I'll give it a bad review" kind of people
Yeah - because there is a big push to give it bad reviews my the MAGA / Elon cult because it has a black woman as Helen of Troy and Zendaya as Athena, just like they do on other films that do not cast white Europeans in traditional roles. Like they did little mermaid.
