Have a friend who’s a big benefactor. He’s at multiple practices and on the field , and he says James is looking to go . We shall see .

Where? He’s shown he can get top 10-15 classes every year and beat teams he should beat. The only place I could see him outperforming PSU is maybe LSU. So much talent there and they all want to go to the flagship school.

I can hear it now, " we've got to get these things cleaned up".....

If….sorry….. when he says that the very next question better be ‘why have you not fixed these issues before now? They’ve been glaringly obvious to anyone paying attention’.

That kid deserved that. He’s lucky Kelce didn’t spike him. I’m not even an Eagles fan or a huge Kelce fan, but how stupid do you have to be to mouth off and not expect any response? I’m sure he called mommy (on someone else’s phone) and she contacted a lawyer because that’s the world we live in these days.

Despite my frustration with play calling and apparent lack of preparation... players got to make plays. Wallace got outmuscled on that pick before the half. Poor tackling. Haven't seen Singleton be explosive in awhile... running or KO returns. Allar struggled against the pressure again. Someone has to step up and make a big play to have a chance.
Add in poor discipline by Washington to extend OSU's possession that leads to a TD. You brought up tackling -- Mr. Stix City has Howard dead to rights on 4th down and totally whiffs.

Receivers can't get open. I'd say we'd have been better w/ Beau, but no. They snuffed him every chance they got when he was in. Whatever the receiving corps (sans TE) are driving, Blaise should take them back.

Great, so we can watch this same Big Game James performance one more time this year in the playoff. ;)
If PSU goes 11-1…not guaranteed, but likely…things will get interesting. They played OSU tough and should have won today.

Will this be a “good loss” or “haven’t beaten anyone good” argument?

It may be irrelevant. Because this staff can’t beat a real top 5 team.

Someone in the media needs to have the balls to say to Franklin:

“You were 1st and goal at the Ohio state 3-yard line, and ran the ball up the middle 3 times. We didn’t see Pribula or Warren a single time on those downs. Who called those plays?”

They're too worried about getting their scoop about the rape case.

Our WRs are awful and Allar is pretty much Hack 2.0. Criticize the latter all you want, but he is a deer in the headlights in big games and will have a similar NFL "career" to Hack. Just as an aside, Keandre Lambert-Smith has 33 receptions for 640 yards and 7 TDs so far this year, far outdistancing any PSU WRs (who COLLECTIVELY have 5 TDs).

Thoughts from the parking lot……
  • Aside from two turnovers, the defense was too undisciplined. Too many easy big gains and a couple crucial penalties.
  • The offense was WEAK. No excuse for the goal line failure.
  • I wasn’t impressed with OSU. A better team would have beaten us by three touchdowns.
  • The stadium sound system blows. The audio distortion gave me a serious headache.
  • It’s good Ohio only has four letters or else the weirdos I heard doing that cheer would be lost.

*Franklin’s cue to step aside and allow PSU AD to step in and say ‘We already said we’re not going to answer any of these questions…’*

Weird take. Allar is better than Hack. Hack had some good WRs bail him out. Robinson and Godwin come to mind. Both guys who have had long successful NFL careers. I don’t think any of the WRs on the current roster who are playing, will play in the NFL. Who cares about KLS? He was selfish and went for the money and he’s stuck on a 3-5 team with little upside.

Allar played like absolute dogshit today. Just like last year: big game, and his confidence goes out the window. Got outplayed by a 3-star.

Could have won this game.
Agreed.

To me it looks like PSU simply lacked a good short yardage game. That first and goal that you failed to take advantage of really hurt. Seems like some coaches have a knack of always making it, and others struggle.

Allar is better than Hack is damning with faint praise. I haven't heard the reason KLS left, but I would assume being ignored the latter part of last season played a part. I was at the Michigan game last year and KLS was wide open deep at least twice and Allar puckered up and ran -- but hey, he didn't throw an interception, which apparently is the mantra beaten into his head by Franklin. In other words, when Allar had a good WR he still wouldn't throw to him. I hope he moves on after this year, because his growth has been negligible and he comes up small against good teams. Probably a nice kid though.

It will depend on who they get matchup up against. Other than the G5 rep, most of those teams are pretty damn good. Even BYU, Miami, and Clemson have been playing well and that doesn’t even take into account the Georgia, Bama, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, LSU type teams.

If Pitt makes the playoff before Franklin, he should just pack his bags. Even Sandy Barbour coming back as AD couldn’t save him then. ;)

Would you have preferred that he just wing it into coverage and get it picked?

If James is looking at his future as a top ten competitive head coach who demands a top 10 coaching salary, he might want to bolt after this year or stay until he's fired or ready to retire. Next year is not a reloading type of year in my opinion. We will lose a lot of this year's talent. Unfortunately, Franklin hasn't been able to bring in a top 10 class since 2022 so the next few years might be a struggle to win 9-10 games and make the playoff which makes him less desirable if he wants to move on. I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me.
