Neuheisel said Franklin will be unfairly criticized for going 1 and 13 against top 5 teams. Another guy on CBS said how’s that unfair. Neuheisel stammered and then said Franklin was 8 straight losses to OSU. The other guy acted like he wasn’t aware it was 8 straight and shook his head and said wow.

Pegula needs to arrange a deal.....

He "arranges" to buy out Franklin and immediately hires Cignetti.

Howard was a stud at KSU, probably a mistake, Allar has been ok but hasn't lived up to his hype just yet.
Howard was the one guy who kept PSU in the game the, pick 6 and fumble through the end zone. He is not all that OSU will get beat by Oregon again and maybe IU.

The "incomplete pass" which was clearly a catch and a fumble still irks me, key play in the game and a clear f-job by the replay officials. Really surprised there's not more discussion of that particular play. JF blew it today though. Just pathetic. I really believe PB should have played the whole second half.

One last thought. Do not underestimate the Wisconsin factor. Teams that play Wisconsin get beat up and have a tough time the next week. There was a stretch a few years back where every team in the conference lost the week after playing Wisconsin.

The running backs looked it along with the o line.

From my seats today 2 things stood out to me. I thought we were on the receiving end of some really bad calls and I thought our goal line play calling was horrible. We had no running game between the Tackles today. I don't understand why we didn't run either a Beau or Warren package down at the goal line.

Another year where we could have beaten OSU and we left em off the hook.

Don't know if it was asked already, but who actually called those two first and goal series.
AK,or did Franklin throw his opinion in there.
So much for getting the ball into the hands of the best players today.

Katron got too many touches today, looked slow. Nick still looks hurt.
Last week BP was throwing dimes, couldn't do any worse than DA in those situations.

OSU gashed our vaunted d- line with a handicapped o-line.

The difference between a top5 recruiting class and a top 15 recruiting class was on display today, zero margin for error
in coaching, penalties, or play execution.

On a good note, every OSU fan i came in contact with today was respectful. I had 3 younger guys behind me and we talked throughout the whole game. In the end we shook hands and agreed a rematch may be in our future.

It's a game fellas. I'm disappointed at another missed opportunity but I know other opportunities lie ahead for this team.
WE ARE!

I’m not sure what the answer is. They don’t have a wideout that puts fear in anyone and their home run hitter in the backfield isn’t making explosive plays. For some reason they didn’t make the conscious effort to get Warren involved so what’s left besides running Allar and Allen? You aren’t going to make much hay considering that.

I didn’t feel too warm and fuzzy when they couldn’t cash in the first drive. When you get those double digit play drives that take 6-7 mins and you come away with only 3, it always seems to bite you.

What resonated most with me today was how quickly OSU could gobble up yardage versus the inability of the Nits to do the same. Is it scheme, talent, or combo?

I agree with the post above. Does this make them angry or determined or do they let go of the rope? The next month will tell you everything about Franklin. The next 4 weeks will ultimately be more important. There is a ton to play for.

Iowa just showed how poor Wiscy is this year: 42-10.

That’s the most frustrating part. If PSU was completely out classed by OSU that would be 1 thing. If they played really well but just came up short to a better team then I think most can accept that. It’s the constant underperforming and poor performances in winnable big games that’s frustrating and drives people nuts.
This is exactly it. They lost a one-possession game today that came down to the fact that the offense, which has been anemic all year, could not do anything, even with the ball inside the 5-yard line twice.

You have a 5-star QB. A 5-star RB, and the best TE in the country, and you can’t score a single touchdown?

How many shots down field did they take today? How many times did they throw short of the stick on 3rd down? The writing was on the wall for this one when they spent the opening 8 minutes grinding out 2-3 yards at a time and settled for a field goal. The crappy dink-and-dunk playcalling should have told us everything we needed to know. Ohio State won because they played to win. We, once again, played scared, ultra-conservative, and could not find the end zone with a GPS.

PSU:

-1-10 vs tOSU in Franklin era
-losers of 8 straight to Buckeyes
-have never beaten Ryan Day
-0 offensive touchdowns in last 8 quarters vs Buckeyes
-1-12 vs top-5 teams under Franklin

Franklin post-game:

"99 percent of programs would be thrilled to do what we have done."

This is incredible, to me. Right to our faces, he tells us we should be satisfied to beat the Kent States and West Virginias of the world, and accept that we never beat Ohio State and Michigan. He's satisfied with mediocrity. Satisfied with winning 8-10 games against weaklings and never beating anyone good. Satisfied with forever being a second tier program.

I’d like to know how they planned on what was their best path to victory. Given the injury to Allar and Sutton, did they feel their best path was to keep it close into the 4q and then attempt to make one more big play against OSU?

To me, you got the thunderbolt of a pick 6 and then immediately let Ohio St score. It wasn’t that they scored, it was how easy it was for them to score. That had to make them think they could score when they needed to. The game changed there and one stop might have made a difference. The taunting penalty was a HUGE play. Kept them on the field and allowed them to score.

Up until the goal line disaster it was basically a scrum. The yardage was pretty much identical and if you said to Franklin that you were basically even up with 5 mins to play, do you think he’d take that? Maybe that’s exactly what you’re saying. That mindset was a losers mindset and it would have been better to go down swinging.

It was a deflating day but I still think they can make some noise if they galvanize the troops.

This won’t sound right but i think I’ve seen this movie before. Years ago, I thought Joe was scared of Bear and was intimidated when playing Bama. Didn’t matter if Bama was better, the same, or worse than Penn St.

I think it’s a bit of the same with Franklin and Ohio St. They have lost some head scratchers and lost leads late when they needed to step on their throats. Maybe it’s their talent or maybe it’s just giving them too much respect, but you can’t tell me that there isn’t some psychological warfare being won by Ohio St.

This year looked like their best chance to beat them. I’d be chomping at the bit to see them again.

Refs kept tosu in the game early and then gave them the cushion they needed to finish it out. The B1G wants 4 teams in the playoff, and today is one way they get that to happen.

Not enough to overturn Wallace's catch and Junkins Fumble total garbage calls that went Osu's way. Weird-but it all evens out. Not

Don't forget the blatant right out in the open HOLD of Carter on a key 3rd down play that Hpward ended up competing for a big gain. Thos were 3 VERY Big calls that as usual go tOSU way in these games.

The college game today needs a mobile QB to put pressure on the defense. Allar was not healthy enough for the OSU game.
