Maybe if Tulane and JMU get blown out we can get a G5 playoff instead of including them
I am hoping they keep learning and optimizing this playoff format. As they expand first to 16 that hopefully will eliminate the G5 requirement to be in the playoff since the logic would be if you are not the top 16 you don't deserve to be in. Probably not though as JMU made it as #25. These conference champs getting in is also unnecessary which only comes into play with the G5 and the ACC.

I prefer conference champs. At least they earned something

Tulane wouldn’t finish in the top half of the BIG or SEC.
The ratings weren’t spectacular for the playoffs last year when you had teams like Clemson, ND, PSU and Texas in them. I have to imagine that the ratings for these last two games will be abysmal. This is what happens when you try to make things equal which never have been and never will be equal. I’ve been watching the NFL game and definitely will watch the Bears-Packers over what will be another joke of a college playoff game tonight.

To make matters worse, the geniuses came up with a game between two teams that already had played this season in a totally uncompetitive game. I feel sorry for a school like Vanderbilt that at least would’ve had a fighting chance to be competitive against Ole Miss or Oregon, And, as much as I dislike smug Freeman, how much better would it have been to see ND play against Ole Miss or Oregon? Instead, we get treated to this garbage in the name of equity.

What a horrible College Football Playoff. Please take the Top 12 or 16 teams whatever it is. Notre Dame and BYU should have been in the playoffs before these two weak teams Tulane and JMU.

I agree and was going to post something very similar. This Ole Miss/Tulane game is a joke. The Oregon/JMU game will probably be just as lopsided.

Get rid of this G5 requirement. They just showed on TV that ND would have been the 11 seed playing Ole Miss and BYU was 12, Texas 13 and Vandy 14. All 4 of those teams would play both Ole Miss and Oregon very tough.

Joe Tessatore was saying these G5 teams need to be in the playoff to avoid anti trust lawsuits. Wow, what a crock. Leave it to lawyers to screw it all up for everyone.

Expand to 24 or create a G5--those are the options IMO

Good point. I was laughing when ND got shafted. Once the reality of these crap ”playoff” games set in, not laughing any more.

Watching James Madison is what I think James Franklin wants out of an offense. Undersized mobile QB (like him) who makes plays with their legs. But you can't run that offense in the B1G. You need to be huge along both lines.

Chesney and his OC are Franklin cute, but the size difference will matter halfway through the 3rd quarter.

I can see why PSU didn't hire him after two interviews.

Watch out for Oregon--I still think they can easily come out of that top half of the draw and should be the favorite

The JMU @ Oregon game is already over. The only thing worth watching are Oregon's "Sweater Girls". They all seem to be buxom

James Madison just does not have the athletes on defense to compete. They might be able to score some points eventually, but they don’t have a chance of slowing down Oregon.
Did anybody else catch the reference to underthrown the deep ball and getting the pass interference call?

Looking like Tulane and JMU should have been on the same playing field as their opponents in the first round of the CFB playoffs.

Yes, that call was bogus.

SEC >>>>>>>>>>>>> ACC
Miami did a nice job trying to buy a solid team though
For the third year in a row the SEC sucks. Let's stop overvaluing their schedule. The Big Ten is better from top to bottom and now the ACC is on the verge of overtaking them.

The Big Ten isn't. We have 3 solid teams. Let's see how the SEC/Big Ten teams go in the next round.
The ACC is complete garbage--Miami's the only decent team even in that conference.
