I agree. They should have gotten Reed running toward the edge.I can't believe A&M didn't have Reed run once in those final 3 plays--congrats to Miami--guessing Ohio State is very happy with this outcome
They had time. I think there was about 50 or 55 seconds left when they got inside the 10. Their QB is not a good enough passer to beat the tight windows down by the goal line. The pick was a bad pass.I agree. They should gotten Reed running toward the edge.
I am hoping they keep learning and optimizing this playoff format. As they expand first to 16 that hopefully will eliminate the G5 requirement to be in the playoff since the logic would be if you are not the top 16 you don't deserve to be in. Probably not though as JMU made it as #25. These conference champs getting in is also unnecessary which only comes into play with the G5 and the ACC.Maybe if Tulane and JMU get blown out we can get a G5 playoff instead of including them
I’d be happy with one of the next 2Do all the visitors win today?
I prefer conference champs. At least they earned somethingI am hoping they keep learning and optimizing this playoff format. Which is why there needs to be 2 levels at FBS. Everyone should be playing for something but teams should be rewarded for playing better competition.I prefer conference champs. At least they earned something

The ratings weren’t spectacular for the playoffs last year when you had teams like Clemson, ND, PSU and Texas in them. I have to imagine that the ratings for these last two games will be abysmal. This is what happens when you try to make things equal which never have been and never will be equal. I’ve been watching the NFL game and definitely will watch the Bears-Packers over what will be another joke of a college playoff game tonight.Tulane wouldn’t finish in the top half of the BIG or SEC.
I agree and was going to post something very similar. This Ole Miss/Tulane game is a joke. The Oregon/JMU game will probably be just as lopsided. The ratings weren’t spectacular for the playoffs last year when you had teams like Clemson, ND, PSU and Texas in them. To make matters worse, the geniuses came up with a game between two teams that already had played this season in a totally uncompetitive game. I feel sorry for a school like Vanderbilt that at least would’ve had a fighting chance to be competitive against Ole Miss or Oregon, And, as much as I dislike smug Freeman, how much better would it have been to see ND play against Ole Miss or Oregon. Instead, we get treated to this garbage in the name of equity.
Expand to 24 or create a G5--those are the options IMOWhat a horrible College Football Playoff. Please take the Top 12 or 16 teams whatever it is. Notre Dame and BYU should have been in the playoffs before these two weak teams Tulane and JMU.
Good point. I was laughing when ND got shafted. Once the reality of these crap ”playoff” games set in, not laughing any more. And, as much as I dislike smug Freeman, how much better would it have been to see ND play against Ole Miss or Oregon? Bama would struggle with MinnesotaBama has players, especially their DL, that PSU will never have .
That game is why we need a larger playoffNot too often we can watch Villanova host an FCS semi-final game on ESPN2. Go Cats!
Vikings ?Bama would struggle with Minnesota
Meanwhile, it looks like ole miss is going to wipe their a$$es with tulane.
Flags all over the fieldThe JMU @ Oregon game is already over. The only thing worth watching are Oregon's "Sweater Girls". They all seem to be buxom
Dolley Madison U is more competitive against Oregon than PS.The JMU @ Oregon game is already over. The only thing worth watching are Oregon's "Sweater Girls". They all seem to be buxom
I am still laughing. I hate ND.Good point. I was laughing when ND got shafted. Once the reality of these crap ”playoff” games set in, not laughing any more.
That pass interference against JMU on Oregon's ladt drive was bogus. Ball was way underthrown and receiver would not have gotten back to the ball. Oregon doesn't need any referee help.Flags all over the field
Yes, that call was bogus.James Madison just does not have the athletes on defense to compete. They might be able to score some points eventually, but they don’t have a chance of slowing Oregon.
Did anybody else catch the reference to underthrown the deep ball and getting the pass interference call?
For the third year in a row the SEC sucks. Let's stop overvaluing their schedule. The Big Ten is better from top to bottom and now the ACC is on the verge of overtaking them.SEC >>>>>>>>>>>>> ACC

The Big Ten isn't. We have 3 solid teams. Let's see how the SEC/Big Ten teams go in the next round. For the third year in a row the SEC sucks. Let's stop overvaluing their schedule. The Big Ten is better from top to bottom and now the ACC is on the verge of overtaking them.
