you really don't watch the game do you?

Yes, I watch the game. Briscoe kills UK, as most people see. You see something in him that doesn't translate on the court. He's got a high motor and to the untrained eye it appears he's a really good player. Break down his stats. He's not that good, at all.

Yeah it is harder than it looks, and some players make it harder when they don't practice layups which is why a good number of bigs who dunk a lot have issues making contested layups. Harder for guards as well due to being constested by bigs. Less athletic bigs tend to make layups at a higher clip because they are used to not dunking a lot.

It's harder than it looks Zay. At least admit that much.
But also, bigs from other teams miss a lot too when the paint is crowded with other big guys bodying them up.
Guys like Swanigan and Maten miss fewer opportunities, but they are veterans.

Swanigan is a soph. And it's really not that hard. Atleast not for D1 players. It's the easiest thing in basketball. That last one Bam missed he didn't even have anyone on him. In fact he could have dunked it but instead bricked it off the glass. There's no reason for Bam to go up with both hands with his palms facing the backboard. That causes so many missed bunnies that it's unreal.

Gators have no chance winning this game, they just shot and played as well as they can and UK turned it over like 12 times and it's tied at the half. Absolutely no way they are winning this game

I hope that this is a reverse jinx; Florida players not named Allen shot 6-29. Both teams are under 30%. Refs are sucking like usual, but I don't think it is as one-sided as people think. UK has 13 FTA and Florida has 2; this is why it is tied.

Love the rebounding -
FT% pretty good
Turnovers, not good, FG% pretty atrocious, but we're tied, so I'll take it

And it can be that hard even for a D1 athlete. I had plenty of teammates in college who struggled with it when contested. Don't you think there is a reason that no one shoots over 50% on contested layups? If it was easy wouldn't may shoot at least 80% when contested?

Saying it's easy is the same logic someone may use when looking at baseball batting averages and saying "he only hits 35%, that's a horrible percentage"

Why the hell is Hawkins shooting so much..He has the most shot attempts in the first half..Problem is he missed all but 1.Cal needs to define rolls and let them know who shoots the most

The only reason FL is so close, is because of their 3 point shooting. This can't keep working for them. I hope.

you really don't. Things you are saying are what basic box score commentator says. Just give you an idea. To give easy offense, the key is to force defense to adjust or support.

What i see clearly translate to the game, because that's how they scored. Why do you think there wasn't much offense at the end? Only thing that helped was sudden explosion of Monk which accounted for 5 points. And few nice foul calls that helped us get the bucket, which was because we were in bonus.

you can call someone idiot, it just proves you just don't see anything.

Does Briscoe make mistake? Without a doubt, and i desperately wish he stop making them...HOWEVER.... he is far better than anyone else we have.

He calls people idiots but believes the earth is flat and 6000 yrs old hahaha. Look Briscoe is what he is, hes a bulldog. Hes not very athletic and not all that skilled. Hes basically a huge RB playing basketball. Dude is tough, he's built for grind it out Big 10 basketball. Our other personnel, besides Humphries, is built for up and down transition basketball. Briscoe was key in our first half comeback and we suffered a nearly 6 minute scoring drought while he was out.

Things I'd like to see in the second half.

Briscoe play in control with no offensive fouls or walks.
Hawkins not playing like Briscoe.
Bam not dribbling and just dunking it since he struggles to make a layup.
Willis not in the backcourt when we bring the ball in and trying to get open more.
Monk playing in control and playing team ball if his shot isn't falling.
No head fake walks.
Keep rebounding well.
D up even if it is from 30' out.

Playing with energy is a good sign, bam has been a beast on the boards, the bam we have waited for all year, these teams know each other, I believe that's why this game looks so ugly. We just need to cut out the stupid turnovers and we win by 8-10 points.

We played decent defense for the most part and rebounded so this game is already much better Han last meeting. Also some of you should be happy that milder Willis and hawk got run. They played within themselves for the most part. Would be nice to see monk make a few buckets in the 2nd.

if Florida shot that well in the first half and the guys we need in foul trouble and it's tied after them playing that bad, no way in hell it's happening...

This will be one of the weakest NBA Draft Classes. I really don't see any of guys making any impact at the next level. Briscoe really needs to stay. He is a train wreck out there. He is fast, but he can't dribble and run that fast at the same time. This results in a TO. For such highly touted Class they really are not that good, They all have their heads somewhere else. Good thing we play in the SEC or we would have 10 loses by now. Wonder how we would do in ACC (thank god we don't have to find out)

You're such an idiot. Telling every uk who isn't happy with what they see to go be a fan of another team. Go play in traffic.
The a difference between no being happy and bashing. I'm not surprised you don't know the difference since you bash the players nonstop. As far as being an idiot, you have demonstrated one of the lowest basketball IQs on this board. Plus I have never told anyone to root for another team. You really need to work on you reading comprehension, jack wagon.

Bam is playing like a man. We just need to play a little smarter and cut down on turnovers. Do that and we win.

If they say he hits "35%" then I likely walk away because he's a moron.

Hell I was a guard and I didn't miss many around the basket so it's unbelievable to me that guys 6'6 and above, who can jump and literally lay it over the rim, can miss so damn many.

Like the other poster said, it's lack of practice. Less athletic bigs usually are always craftier and make layups at a higher percentage than straight athletes.

UF will be carried to the FT line the entire last 10 minutes IMO... these refs are eager to rape our team
