Here is another critical part of this game, for future games. Can they run out the clock. Something previous teams have failed to do in critical games.
There were about 18 guys in the starting 22 who retain eligibility, I think if they can keep at least 15 of them and then four or five of the other main contributors in this game like Martin, Hayes, the back up DB’s and DLs this could be a pretty good team next year.
Grunk and Martin have shown a lot of growth today. Same with the defensive backs and younger guys on the D line
All the players with the most talent will depart because they are not the type of player profile Campbell prefers. Then Campbell brings in a recruiting class in 2027 that is composed of 85% three-stars who are the type of player profile Campbell likes.
Just kidding. But it’s a fear. But just kidding. I think.
I would like to think Campbell uses the NIL to hold onto the foundational guys. I’m nervous though….
He is the future as Terry Smith said. Looks more relaxed than Allar and leads his receivers so they are hit in stride for YAC.
I don't think either of these teams resemble their regular season teams, but our youngsters outplayed their youngsters
Hopefully some of the guys will have a feel good bonding moment today and want to return as part of this team. A lot of good young contributors out on the field today. I was pleasantly surprised with a lot of new faces. I’ve never heard of before doing a nice job.
It’d be nice if we found out soon who our mystery defensive coordinator is to hopefully solidify the roster.
Martin and Hayes look like a good backfield for 2026
The young DEs have looked good as well. Hopefully, they can keep Granville and get him back and that’s a good starting point for DEs.

PSU wins their last 3 regular season games, and then the bowl game, to finish 7-6 on the season.
Grunk is going to make some good coin somewhere next year. Hopefully at PSU.

No, not 100% but a couple that I had heard a week ago played pretty well today so I’m wondering if Terry has changed some people‘s minds.
I’m going to be a silly optimist and say that we will retain many players that will do well for us next year!

Yep. If Campbell loses him he’s a fool.
I like what many of these guys did today as well. I really hope that Campbell is able to hold many of them. It has been stated many times, but I think retaining Smith will be key. They rallied for him. I think many will stay for him.
Glad Terry is staying. Also, glad he is not the new HC.

So, for those of you who were crying in your Cheerios this morning about the opt outs, this was fun, right? Grunk, Martin, Dixson, Rappleyea, Howard, Wylie, Harvey, etc played well and showed us what may be the future of PSU football.
Agree. Granted it was against Clemson, but the 2nd string OL was impressive.
