We’ve been snakebite but I think Indiana won it more than we lost it. Did you watch the end of the Oregon-Iowa game? Great teams just win those kinds of games and unfortunately we’re not a great team. You’d think we’d get one of them though.
I understand. But all PSU had to do to win the games outside OSU was for the defense to make a stop in a critical situation in the final minute of the game. That's it. Prevent the teams from driving down the field relatively unposed and you win. That's all you needed to do to win those games in the end. Make a stop and you win.
Most likely...but I could see Kraft's HC search going south and basically not having a decent alternative...and someone looks at him and says, "well, there's Terry, y'know - he did win that big game against Indiana."

Well its exactly what has embodied every problem the program has had for a long time. The players have no mental toughness or discipline to know GAME SITUATION. Its a reflection of the culture BGJ allowed. Look at me is more important than doing your job. Probably could be applied io BGJ in a lot of ways. or its it just me and the "act like you have been there before" approach I have always appreciated under Joe is no longer valued?

Agreed. Terry has been talking about throwing behind the linebackers. That was the time to do it. Indiana was in zero coverage and was totally selling out against the run. We should have tried to punish them for that at least once on that series.
I couldn't believe the selfishness and stupidity of Durant after that play. He's had a terrible year and he makes a sack and suddenly he thinks he's on Soul Train. And he didn't get lined up in time for the next play. Mind boggling.
I feel just the opposite.....that is until the Franklin era.Though I consider myself fortunate to have been a PSU fan for many years, and have experienced more winning than losing, it seems to me that most of those type finishes have gone agin us.

I am still completely confused as to why the ref gave them that "time out". There was still like 20 seconds on the play clock. Maybe 15.

They did basically get a free timeout...but the Center Judge wasn't over the ball stopping the play. The officials hustled back into position likely anticipating that Indiana was going up-tempo, and missed that they had a player head straight to the sideline with an injury. We smartly saw that they made a sub and tried slowing it down making a sub ourselves; had the officials been on top of it, we could have burned another 10 seconds. But there is no way to rectify it after the fact.
