Kiffen might be going there. There is no doubt in my mind that O will assemble the best staff of coaches and recruiters that he possibly can. And I would not be shocked if he does it at the detriment of other SEC teams as he tries to raid their staffs.

I thought their big boy move was to fire Mack Brown? Or like OU's big boy move to hire Howard Schnellenberger and John Blake? It's only a big boy move if it works out, apparently.
And if it doesn't work, you do it again until it does. No fear of failure.

Exactly.

Hiring Ed Orgeron isn't a big boy move, it's a "we struck out with Jimbo and Tom so we'll settle for Ed".

Texas firing Strong, who had a 16-21 record for the Horns and 3 straight losing seasons, isn't a big boy move. It's a common sense move.

No. It is a big boy move to swallow your pride and fire a coach who is not getting it done

See above.

It is a big boy move (whatever that means lol) to fire a coach after only three seasons. Of course, they were three losing seasons and so it was a no brainer. So your point is taken

I know I'm in the minority but I don't think Tom Herman is all that and a bag of chip's. I don't even think he's the best coach in texas. SMU coach is pretty good.

Look for Sark to head over to Baton Rouge and run the Tiger O

I like Herman, but this seems awfully quick. Don't they have to post the job for a couple of days?

And Charlie Strong actually had a better resume at Louisville than Herman has at Houston. Is he really a major upgrade at this point in his career?

Herman doesn't even look like the most impressive non power 5 coach at the moment.

I'm surprised nobody's talking about Willie Taggart at USF. He's turned around both Western Kentucky and South Florida. Both programs were in shambles when he took over.

This is a good offseason to be looking for a coach, quite a few promising young coaches out there.

I have no idea if these are good moves or not.
I think LSU retaining Orgeron might be.
Time will tell.

What I do know is that people are gonna get tired of me pointing at them and saying "big boy move" whenever they change something.

Big boy programs make big boy moves.
hahahahaha.....you mean like firing Frank? Or firing a national championship coach only to fire his successor a couple of years later? Get this. LSU just fired a national championship winning coach in Miles and replaced him with a guy that has never won anything. Hmmm big boy moves or just plain stupidity?

I have been critical of them firing Miles BUT hiring Orgeron to replace him may turn out to be their best option. He's failed before but this may actually work out just like I think Riley will turn out for us.

I think getting rid of Miles was a good move regardless of that national title considering they made it to the game by way of everyone else losing at just the right time. It was one of the worst national titles teams that I can remember. Firing him only to hire Orgeron baffles me though.

I think O has learned from his past...I think he will stay out of the offense and defense and play more of a CEO role

Texas fires a flash-in-the-pan coach to hire another flash-in-the-pan coach.

Headline November 2019: Herman fired after third straight mediocre season.

Fools just don't learn. Guess they're going to have to have a revolving door for awhile just like us.

One of the reasons it was such a weak NC team was it's defense gave up a bazillion yards and points on multiple occasions.....errrr who was that DC now....

Yeah I remember watching Felix Jones and Darren McFadden run wild on that defense all night long. I kind of cringed thinking he would end up here after that game.
