Fun?

No, it isn't. I'm on edge because during the off-season worrying that we are going to lose coaches all the time.

Its time to pony up serious money to Gran, Thomas, Hinshaw , Marrow, etc.... I think great raises plus their connection to stoops would keep them on board!

but as far as the topic goes..... He's staying at UF.
Don't think he is going anywhere either. As to our situation I doubt anyone leaves, there would seem to be some incentive to stay thru next season just to see where we can go from here.(Maybe this time we are getting started bro)

Good news for UK and SEC fans, McElwain is more Muschamp and Ron Zook than Spurrier and Meyer. He is between the 2. I like the guy, he is good coach, don't think he is special coach.
Doesn't look like they are keeping up with FSU and or Alabama, just lost a big time commit to Penn St.

Willie Taggert to Oregon is my clubhouse leader for best rumor.

It's going to get crazy here in a few weeks.

Exactly. We need him to stay put. Otherwise they may end up hiring a dominant coach

Unsurprisingly we're not hearing many rumors about the man only Louisville would take.
If McElwain gets Lamar Jackson to sign on signing date than you would be talking about Fla and Alabama being undefeated. You would be talking about UL as being a 4-6 loss team or a team.
This is why it's all about recruiting. Blame Lamar Thomas our WR coach and the fact Jim. MC was only hired shortly before that class.

They just got serious money last year..this is what happens at UK. Have a little success one season and people go crazy about raises and extensions..Relax and things will play out . Gracious.

Things are shaping up to be interesting this year, and in to next season/off season.

Texas and LSU kicked it off this season, but those sagas really had an anti climatic end. Tom Herman and Big Ed might be great, but I thought for sure both would try and make plays for bigger names. Why neither made a big swing at Chip Kelly is head scratching.

Oregon looks like it may come open, which may lure McElwain away, he is from the pacific northwest, born in Montana, played at Eastern Washington, coaching stops at Eastern Wash, Fresno St, Oakland, Montana St, CSU...

Notre Dame and Kelly may split.

Then you have Butch Jones in a slightly uncomfortable position at UT having just lost to Vandy. What if the Vols get rolled in their bowl game? UK is not going to be a pushover much longer, UGA will get back on track, Commodores are always a dog fight. Vols could easily win the east next year, but they could just as easily go 3-5 in conference.

Let's not forget about little ole Houston out there. I'm a big proponent of that job and think it should be a destination for top young coaches looking to move up as opposed to going to some bottom feeder P5 and having a tough road. PJ Fleck, Neal Brown, Jeff Brohm, etc all these young guys waiting for an offer need to go beat down the Cougars door. Instead of struggling to get .500 at Purdue or BC, you can get to 10 wins and never have to leave the city to recruit. Hell, would be perfect for set up for Sark to make a come back, his shot is still probably a year or two a way though, still has some dues to pay.

I think if UO wants Jim he's a goner. As noted, Pacific NW is his home, everyone wants to eventually go home. Plus you have a much easier road to success in the PAC 12. Throw the Nike influence on top of it all, if they want him, he will go.

Oregon should go after RichRod, fits their personnel perfectly and has won everywhere they have given him time to win.

Houston should hire Major Applewhite as HC he was Hermons OC the last two years and a Texas guy, but might follow him to Texas.

If not, Kendall Briles or Phillip Montgomery would be great hires for them.
