OJ Mayo may have been traded for Josh McRoberts and Brandon Rush. Hmm.

Not sure how I feel about that. I know the Grizz want another big man, and McRoberts may work well with Zbo and Gasol, but I have zero clue if Rush is worth a damn or not. Mayo ended the season playing pretty damn well too. Not sure if it's true yet, PTI reported it and so have some other sites.

Sports 56 in Memphis confirmed it earlier this morning. Xavier better be huge this year, because we have no outside scoring threat now.

I seem to recall that Rudy Gay has some range. I know he isn't the same outside threat that OJ Mayo developed into, but as you mentioned, they have a few good young prospects (e.g. Xavier Henry). Not sure how I feel about the trade, though.

The guy is way to u and down, and I think he is leaving Memphis at first chance anyway. I don't think I would mind McRoberts backing up Gasol and ZBO, but like you I don't know about Rush. I am also curious to see what Selby is all about.

Best news of the day just came down when Gasol said he has agreed to a new contract with the Grizzlies. December 26 can't get here soon enough

OJ can't hold a candle to that guy. Thinking back to the playoffs, the two things we were missing were Rudy and someone to give Marc and Z-bo a breather in addition to Darrell. I don't know crap about McRoberts but if he can give them 5 minutes each he will be fine. If Hadaddi is capable of giving them a breather, I sure hope this guy can. OJ, Sam Young, Xavier, and Selby were too many to split minutes between and develop. Hopefully Xavier will become the 3 point assassin he is supposed to be, plus play defense that OJ can't.

Yes, the trade fell through. Xavier is injured again so we can't afford to tradeOJ unless we aregetting a2 withan outside shot.

I have no idea as to why Wallace is so enamored with Josh McRoberts, but I think there are probably a few guys in the D league with his talents that we could sign without giving up OJ. I'm 99% sure that Mayo will be seeing his last days as a Grzzly this year, but I'd rather hang on to him if McRoberts is the best they can do. Keeping him could lead to three better situations.

1. OJ gets his shot back and becomes a solid scorer off the bench for us
2. Trade him near the deadline to a rebuilding team that has a star trying to get out of town
3. Trade him to a desperate team at the deadline for something of value such as draft picks

I just don't get unloading him at a time when he has such little value. Also, anyone notice that Walter Sharpe is on the roster?

I don't get the need either. I thought Arthur and "Hairy Knuckle" Haddadi for the most part did a good jobresting ZBo and Gasol towards the end of the season. We need a tall defender at the 2 that can be an outside threat. Xavier has torn ankle ligaments so he will be out a good while.
