Lee just can't do the whole show anymore. It is too much for him to do after the stroke. Move Matt Millen (terrible GM, but great commentator) in to the middle chair for most of the show and bring Corso in the last 20 minutes or so for the picks. Dump Desmond. No explanation needed. Bring in Robert Smith if you have to be politically correct.

except I'd put Chris Spielman in Corso's place for the comic relief. You have to have one goofball on there. Spielman is a pretty good analyst, but he's also got the dumb jock humor. Corso is really struggling, which I hate to see. He's a nice guy, and despite the goofiness, provided some good analysis in years past.

Desmond is an embarassment to the English language.

(I suspect Berman) or knows where Holtz's secret strangled hobo graveyard is. Nothing else could explain why he's still on T.V.

ESPN seems to intentionally put someone on their shows that make stupid comments to make some sports fans that have lesser knowledge feel smarter.

In other words, if you are a sports fan that doesn't have a whole lot of sports knowledge per say, and you put some oaf on the show that makes some outlandish comment, well, the ignorant sports fan will say something that is correct to make them feel better about themselves, feel included and keep on watching the show. This = better ratings.

They do this with other commentators/personalities like Lou Holtz, Joe Morgan, and Skip Bayless.

In other words, they have to appeal to women somehow.

The mistakes that Verne Lunquist has made since the beginning of the broadcast are awful. He totally flubbed the opening. Then he said that they were in beautiful Stanford Stadium. Gary Danielson is just ok. I don't hate him like some. When Ron Franklin's contract with ESPN is up, CBS should make a push to sign him. He could do SEC games in the fall and do the NCAA Tournament in March. Bring in Matt Millen to be the color man, since it doesn't seem that ESPN knows what to do with him.
